Today we’d like to introduce you to Princess Wallace.
Princess, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I got into bartending in 2016. I am a single mom of three, and at the time, I was working multiple jobs and still facing financial struggles. I have always had an entrepreneur spirit and wanted to work for myself. I previously started a makeup business which didn’t take off as I was expecting. After the fail makeup business, I started an organization called S.H.E which brings women in business together through networking which is still going today but for me was never about capital gain. So while focusing on my organization and working a full and part-time job, I started exploring other ways to make quick money. Then one night, while I was out, I was standing at the bar at a local club and realize that they were making a lot of money by just pouring drinks. I started looking into bartending and a few months later, I signed up for bartending school. I finished bartending school and started working at local bars and lounges. After a few years working in a local lounge and still working a full-time job and being a mother I started to exhausted myself out. I know I didn’t want to leave Bartending but didn’t want to continue working the long nights. I had done a few private events in the past and enjoyed it. I started telling family in friends if they knew anyone that I was available to do private events. Getting back into my entrepreneurial spirit, I decide to not just bartend private events as a bartender but to brand myself as a company. I created my company MIXX Bartenders LLC in 2018 and have been servicing private events since. My company allows me to continue my passion for bartending on my time and be a business owner.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Overall my entrepreneurial journey has not been smooth. When I started going into business, I was shy and didn’t like talking to people. I would go to networking events and just listen and hand out a few businesses. I believe my shyness is what causes me to fail in my makeup business. I took those mistakes as my opportunity for growth when I started my organization and bartending business. I don’t always get the outcome I want but when I look back, I always remind myself that any progress is better than none.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about MIXX Bartenders – what should we know?

We are most known for our customer service and knowledge of industry which sets us apart from most companies. We’re not just your, I can bartend and I’ll come pour drinks for you bartender. We enjoy what we do and have a passion for it and it shows in our service. I’m most proud of being able to put others to works that share the same passion for the job as I do. Knowing that I’m giving someone the opportunity to make money that they can use to take care of themselves or their family is the best feeling and experience I’ve had as a business owner.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
The most important characteristic to my success is understanding. Understanding as a business and as a leader. Understanding how to meet my clients’ needs so we are able to provide the best services. And as a leader, because I believe you are only as good as your team and they are a reflection of who I am in my absence.
