Today we’d like to introduce you to Prudence Fields.
Prudence, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
When I chose to become a single parent 17 years ago, I had to go back to work. I thankfully got hired at two upscale salons in Roswell. I learned so much from the stylists at these places in two years. And not to mention, birthed my 3rd child within these two years too. When my oldest started school, I had to relocate my job closer to home, North GA. So I worked at a Fantastic Sams for two years until I couldn’t stand it anymore. So I decided to go into business for myself. I started a traveling hair company, “Hair On The Go” in 2006.
In 2007 I opened “Salon Sassy,” a hair salon, in my home. In 2008 I opened Salon Sassy in a storefront. It was an appointment only salon, and I rented booths. In 2009, Salon Sassy was being run by a manager, so I took Hair On The Go to Texas, where I made enough money to open my first “Fine Hair” salon, which opened in Jasper, GA in June of 2010. Fine Hair has been Jasper’s favorite walk-in only hair salon for ten years now! For the first eight years, I had many stylists and lots of clients! The stylists come and go, and to this day, I still can’t seem to find quality stylists in this area that fits the Fine Hair part. So in 2018, I fired all my staff and became solo. My goal since day one has been to franchise Fine Hair, to become a household name. As a matter of fact, I am currently looking for an investor(s) to help make the 1st fine Hair franchise salon happen. I stay very busy with repeat clients and new clients. With my focus on haircuts, haircuts and styles, and color. And of course amazing customer service and high-quality hair services! All at affordable prices! My competitors are Great Clips, Fantastic Sames, Smart Styles, Famous Hair, etc… But none can compare with my brand. Fine Hair Salons.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It HAS been a smooth road, now that you mentioned it!! Of course, there were struggles and still are! My biggest struggle is finding quality stylists. I’d say that would be the only one worth mentioning!

Fine Hair is a walk-in only hair salon that provides high-quality hair services at affordable prices, in a professional and timely manner, with excellent customer service. Specializing in Haircuts and styles and color services. I’m known for all the things I just mentioned!!!
I am most proud as a company that I have not allowed the unprofessionalism of this industry destroy what I believe in! My desire to provide people with amazing salon experience, that they can afford, and will continue to return again and again and again, is what sets me apart from the rest.
