Meet Olga Tulei

Today we’d like to introduce you to Olga Tulei.

Olga, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was born in Moldova when it was still part of the USSR. My parents immigrated to Atlanta in 1997. I graduated from University of Georgia (UGA) with an Undergrad in Art and Art Education. Art was always part of my life, starting with the Art Academy in Moldova when I was in 3rd grade. Traveling has always been part of my life. After a short study abroad in Tuscany, Italy, a wanderlust led to the adventure of traveling to over 23 countries. Recording the landscapes, people and cultures through the lenses of the camera sparked the passion of starting my own photography business Photography by Olga (PxOlga).

Moving back to Atlanta from living in South Korea and Abu Dhabi, I continued to grow in my career, education and networking. The Photography business is my passion and a way to continue to create and design. I enjoy capturing the moment through my photography; I want that moment (feeling) to be saved for years. Portraiture is my forte; clients have told me that they feel comfortable and that I create a welcoming environment. This helps my clients become comfortable with the camera and letting their best smile show through.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I believe that if there are no obstacles, then you are doing something wrong. “Nothing happens when nothing is done” is what my mom always says. The most challenging thing has been building the equipment for my business, which is very expensive. I decided to go back to school and complete my Specialist in Instructional Technology to not only expand my learning but also have the funds to provide professional knowledge and quality to my clients.

Tell us more about PxOlga.
PxOlga provides professional photographs for all venues and events, with the focus in portraiture. Capturing individuals in formal and nontraditional ways, that allows the personality to come through. The photographs are taken with Sony 7riii and are edited in the Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, providing exceptional quality. PxOlga has the vision to expand into a focus of portraits alone. I am very passionate about the desire and love towards learning photography and the use of technology. Professionally pushing myself forward always changing, molding and adjusting. I do photoshoots locally, nationally and internationally. Working with clients of all ages, ethnic and cultural backgrounds is what makes me excited about photography. Taking part in their stories by recording through the lens of the camera is a beautiful moment that brings me joy.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Life is a beautiful story made of lessons to learn from. Moving forward is the key and I look at these opportunities as luck itself. Accomplishing my dreams and goals is the greatest fulfillment that shows me that I can do what I set up to do. When plans change, it is a great opportunity to diversify and move out of the tunnel vision. As a woman entrepreneur, I am driven and an enthusiast about the business world and the mind of an entrepreneur. I love supporting other women and collaborating from all fields of entrepreneurship. If I was to be direct and say how the role of luck has played in my business and that is to meet people that are willing to share their knowledge with me. I am lucky to have that opportunity.
