Today we’d like to introduce you to Queenz Of Cannabiz
Hi Queenz of Cannabiz, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Queenz of Cannabiz, the groundbreaking organization dedicated to increasing diversity and equity in the cannabis industry, is set to host an exciting lineup of events featuring industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and artists.
Queenz of Cannabiz was founded to educate and empower women and minorities on the unlimited entrepreneurial opportunities in cannabis—beyond million-dollar cultivation, manufacturing, and distribution licenses. Through strategic partnerships with industry leaders in cannabis and entertainment, Queenz of Cannabiz provides access to knowledge, resources, and pathways to ownership.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There have definitely been obstacles.
Diversity in the business of Cannabis is almost nonexistent. There is a clear shortage of Women and Minorities who have ownership in the business of Cannabis. Only 4.3% of the Cannabis Industry is owned by African Americans, with 80% being owned by Caucasians. While 80% of people in jail for Cannabis crimes are African Americans. The media is only presenting to the community the million-dollar licensing that it takes to obtain a manufacturing, cultivation, and distribution license. They are lacking the demonstration of the fact that there are unlimited possibilities to become an entrepreneur without having to even touch the flower.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Queenz of Cannabiz ?
Queenz of Cannabiz was founded in 2019 by Atlanta native and Public Relations Strategist, Amy Hanks. Her resume includes a variety of clients from hip hop to politics. A few of them include Snoop Dogg, Big Boi, Waka Flaka, “Able” Mable Thomas, Robby Wells, Justice Clarence Thomas, Coalition DJ’s, and many more. In 2018 after being diagnosed with a lifelong disease called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, she decided to move across the country to California in search of a holistic way to heal. Due to Legalization in California, Cannabis and CBD were her top priority to learn as much information as possible. She was able to educate herself in every aspect of the Legal Cannabis Industry from seed to sale. It was through attending various events and relationships with dispensaries and manufacturing facilities, that she was introduced to the extreme lack of diversity in the business of Cannabis. It became her passion to eradicate the racism. and increase the diversity of ownership in the Cannabis Industry. With the idea of changing the mind set of her peers in the Entertainment Industry, she plans to spread the knowledge she gained through her California experience with them. Amy Hanks is a leading force as an activist for minorities in Cannabis. Her desire to teach her peers that Cannabis is a healing plant instead something you roll up to get high with is such a necessary task.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
With major corporations in control, we must come together to prepare and educate uniqueways to obtain ownership one community at a time. The foundation of Queenz of Cannabiz is to educate Women and Minorities by utilizing our relationships with the trendsetters and the elite of the Cannabis and Entertainment Industries. We will be educating our culture on the unlimited possibilities of entrepreneurship in the business of Cannabis as a movement of Cannabis Influencers and Entrepreneurs who have ownership in Cannabis without the cost of the million-dollar licensing.
