Meet Rabiah Reyome of MoonRiver Design in Roswell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rabiah Reyome.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have always had the vision of owning my own company and providing-in some sense, a creative outlet for myself.

Starting out, I was not sure what owning my own business would look like, but knew that ultimately running my own firm and being a role model to not only my children but to others was and still is something I take seriously. I want to be able to pave the way for others who have a similar dream.

Although I did not originally go to school for interior design, I always enjoyed enhancing spaces for others, which organically influenced where I devoted much of my free time. Having a degree in psychology allowed me to harness that passion for creating remarkable and inviting environments, parallel to that, MoonRiver Design has afforded me the ability to create such spaces where clients’ feel a sense of sanctuary and well being.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I believe that business in any capacity has its own challenges associated with it. While the idea and vision behind MoonRiver Design was easy for us to feel excited and passionate about, the path to getting to where we are today was not without it’s own set of trials.

Identifying what sets us apart as a company, so that we could accurately sell and market ourselves was something that took us time to pin down. We struggled with precisely identifying how to be recognized as a brand. We questioned what exactly would make us stand out to clients and what would get them excited about working with us- and over time, we came to the realization that our passion and expertise would be what set us apart. We care about creating spaces where people not only feel at home but feel connected to the individual attention that has been placed into making their space precisely for them. We will not do something simply because it is trendy, we take the time to think through the craftsmanship so that it continues be a functional design for years to come.

As a new company, there is a lot of work that goes into proving your art and brand. We spend countless hours speaking with clients, enhancing not only our work ethic but also our knowledge in the field of carpentry, masonry, and interior design.

Chris and I are both optimists and take lessons learned to enhance our business strategies. We never stopped believing in what MoonRiver Design means to our community or us.

MoonRiver Design – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
At MoonRiver Design, we live by our promise of being focused on superior design and timeless craftsmanship. With over 25 years of experience, our high-end boutique firm is specialized in sophisticated hardscapes, top of the line custom masonry work, and interior design expertise.

As a company, I am most proud that we have been recognized for not only timeless and detailed work, but for positively enhancing the lives of our clients’. Giving back to others is a pinnacle part of our company and it is the driving force for the projects we pursue and the company’s we choose to work with.

Currently, we are working on building partnerships with the Boys and Girl Club of Atlanta and Atlanta’s Habitat for Humanity. We are really committed to work with the younger generations within our local communities where we can take time to teach them critical skills that they can eventually turn into a career. We are looking forward to building positive relationships and knowledge sharing the importance of entrepreneurship.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
For me, it is not one or two things that define success; it has been a culmination of encounters with people along my journey that has helped me reach where I am today. My faith has played a pivotal role as well as my children and my fiancé Chris who is my business partner.

Between Chris’s extensive masonry background and mine, we knew starting our own firm just made sense. Unknowingly, the encouragement from friends who would casually mention that “I should pursue interior design” helped me to recognize my talent and see that I could turn it into a successful business.

MoonRiver Design came about through the hard work and perseverance from both of us. Even in times when I may be unsure of the next steps in a project, Chris is always there for me to toss ideas around and he provides an ingenious approach to the business.

Without the constant support and encouragement from our family and friends in combination with our convictions, MoonRiver Design would not be as successful as it is today.
