Meet Rachel Roberts of Chef Kitty’s Cuisine in Brooklyn

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Roberts.

Rachel, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Here’s a little of how my whole journey started. I lost my sister at a very young age and my life been in shambles ever since. I never thought the day would come when I was able to finally get peace but it did and this is how my journey began. After finding out the news that I did, I began to start going to culinary school (Hostos Community College). I graduated in 2017. I then one day made some shrimp deviled eggs for home and posted it on social media and didn’t expect the reaction I received so I began selling them to the point I was able to actually pay for my culinary school classes.

After graduating, I began selling dinners which actually turned out pretty well that lead to me selling platters of food to start my very own catering company, “Chef Kitty’s Cuisine, “ which lead to the best part of my life that I never expected or had the idea it would go this far. Today as Of 2020, I can say my hard work, dedication and focus lead to me to be on “UberEats. “

Has it been a smooth road?
I wish I can say it was a smooth road but what I will say it has been a learning and somewhat successful road. I basically taught myself the ropes of the chef game as far as learning how to actually buy in bulk, accumulate more income than outcome, supply and demand. I will say the mistakes I did make or had to face taught me to set different rules and become a better business person not only for me but for my community and customers.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
My main goal for chef Kitty’s Cuisine it to own one or more food trucks in different states god willingly. I specialize in every cuisine but I love seafood because that’s what I really eat all the time since a young child. What I feel sets me apart from others is my consistency even when I’m tired or drained I’m pushing myself towards a goal, I make sure I get it done. I also feel my presentation with my food sets me apart from others. The way I show my cleanliness to my customers and others really set me apart. At the moment, my customers are literally obsessed with my seafood fries it’s basically French fries with a cheese sauce I make from scratch topped with large shrimp and lump crab meat. I feel those will take me anywhere!

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I feel if you are passionate about what you are doing wherever you are you can make it any city anywhere. The place doesn’t do the business you do! My city just need to support and lift each other up less competition more working together. More money could be made.
