Today we’d like to introduce you to Rahmana Evans.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am a proud ATLien and Grady Baby. I was raised in College Park, south side, stand up!
I am a mom entrepreneur and a photography enthusiast. My passion is my business, “Books of Joi”.
I started making photo books when my daughter was a baby. Our children grow up so fast, so I realized I needed something to remind me of these growing stages in life, so l grabbed my disposable camera to capture my baby’s first steps and other precious memories. (This was before the time before smartphones and Facebook /social media as we know it.) After making books of milestones, it became a hobby that sparked my passion.
Later, I enjoyed making photo books for my family & friends as gifts to celebrate special occasions – birthdays, graduations, weddings, and baby showers. That’s when I noticed my passion for photography and making photo books. It gives me tremendous joy seeing the smiley faces when I see loved ones enjoying precious memories.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Has it been a smooth road? Like the saying goes, ‘the path to success is not paved’ I have experienced many bumps and turns along the way. There’s no straight path to success, but I was determined to keep going even when it seemed like I had hit a dead end.
During the pandemic, I experienced the devastating loss of my twin brother, my biggest supporter. It made me realize that life is short, and I had to pursue the goals that I’ve been putting off. I decided to step out on faith and turn my hobbies into my business.
Whenever I felt sad and dealing with grief, I worked on a project. I held on to my brother’s memories and his lasting words, ‘to go to work’. This has led me to believing in myself and starting my new venture Joiful 360 Photo Booth ATL. I purchased the machine with the last of my savings and used my late brother’s truck to travel to events. I know he would be proud.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?

Who else deserves credit in your story?
Joiful 360 Photo Booth ATL wouldn’t be what it is today without my friends and family.
The amazing people in my life played a big role in my success. My first Joiful 360 photo booth booking was made by my friends. It means everything to me that they believe in my capabilities to run a business that I am passionate about and support me. Through working at their events, I am now ready to branch out and work with the public (soon-to-be-friends) and build good relationships in business. I enjoy the opportunities that they have given me to be a part of their celebrations. (Birthday parties, baby showers, and graduations)
Joiful 360 Photo Booth ATL’s motto is “Making the Joy Go Around”. That is a motto I live by. I enjoy rolling out the red carpet and seeing my clients have a good time whether it is with a photo book or the 360 Photo Booth experience at an event. Even when I was discouraged, my friends reminded me that: “business is a marathon, not a race” and this has kept me going.
Especially in Atlanta, when the city opened up, everyone was ready to go outside and party with loved ones. I’ve learned there is enough room for everyone, we all bring something different, and every business can be successful by passing the baton to help the next.
It has been a pleasure to bring a new level of fun to celebrations and I am grateful for this experience.
