Meet Rajab Guga

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rajab Guga.

Hi Rajab, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
What I can say is I’ve always had an eye for detail but it wasn’t until 2019 that I was able to explore that creative part of myself through photography and at the end of 2020, I took it to the next level by working as a professional photographer and got a chance to travel the world more due to photography and I never looked back it’s been an amazing journey and I’m looking forward to seeing where it takes me. It wasn’t easy but I’m glad it all worked out for the best and I’m proud to say photography changed my life in general.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There are many words I can use to describe my path but smooth is definitely not one of them, any path toward success in the creative sphere is always filled with hardship and as such it is not just talent but also perseverance that determines success at the end of the day. There are always people that will try to stand in your way so it’s important to keep your priorities straight and not let other people’s opinions influence you.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Unlike other photographers and videographers, I have chosen not to specialize in any specific area because I believe that varying my day-to-day work -from music and lifestyle videos to portraits, product and real estate photography- boosts creativity. What I’m most proud of is that thanks to my extensive traveling, I have been able to capture the essence of different cultures through my lens.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Even today, I look back at my childhood and the most memorable and nostalgic part of it are the family trips… Seeing the culture and landscapes of my beautiful country was the best experience I could have ever wished for as a child. Nowadays, I always look forward to going back home during holidays and attempting to recreate those precious moments.
