Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca Curtis.
Rebecca, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Long ago while raising my four children in the Bay area of Florida, I had a lofty dream of owning my own wellness spa where clients could come and find sanctuary for their body and soul. I placed that dream on the shelf and forgot all about it. Now many years later, I am awestruck that God did not forget. Never could I have imagined that I could realize my dream, partnering with my husband of four years and the love of my life, Michael. I am so filled with gratitude for Tom and Lyn Winegar being the appointed founders, caretakers and visionaries of this, my lofty dream all these years. Now I am truly honored to carry on the legacy that they built and the fulfillment of my lofty dream.
Everything about my current position as a spa owner seems almost magical, I would be more accurate to say, ordained. The details that have brought me on my journey here, seem to point to a design for my life that has just “always been’. As long as I can remember I have always followed the path of health and wellness.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
We are fortunate to have a great friendship with the founders of the Spa. I remember in the first few months of opening there was a bad flu that spread through our entire staff and at one point we were at half staff and with no front desk team. We had to call in our “A Team”, the previous owners; Tom and Lyn and they came and ran my front desk with me!
I think hiring and releasing staff is our biggest challenge and I am sure most business owners would agree. When you are short staffed, it creates a greater load on the entire team. When you are short staffed with your technicians, it creates a lack of services you are able to provide, generating a financial stress, which of course affects everything and everyone.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Renew Day Spa story. Tell us more about the business.
Renew Day Spa is a luxury day spa, dedicated to pampering the body, nurturing the mind and renewing the spirit. It is our desire to attract people to come and relax, refresh and renew in our 5,000 sq. ft. of tranquility. At Renew you will find a little piece of paradise in the midst of busy Marietta-Roswell. Enjoy light refreshments and escape to one of our relaxation rooms or take advantage of our complimentary dry sauna and showers, before and/or after your chosen pampering treatments.
We have a vast variety of services and products that aid in providing the health and beauty results that our clients have come to expect. Our core services are massage, facials and body treatments, having a variety in each of those categories. We also have medical spa treatments such as Laser Hair Reduction, Microneedling, and Dermaplaning. All of our services and their prices are detailed on our website.
The thing that I am most proud of is the healing ambiance that we maintain and the professional team that provides every aspect of our guests’ experience at the spa. There is no greater joy than to come to work everyday with a team of 14 that truly love their profession and find such satisfaction in using their gifts and talents to provide extraordinary experiences for others.
What sets us apart is our attention to detail in every area of the spa, particularly in the area of cleanliness. You will not find a spec of dust anywhere! Even our housekeeping staff loves their job and takes pride in its plethora of luxurious details.
Another thing that I absolutely love is seeing so many couples and families come together to Renew on a regular basis as a part of their personal health and wellness regimen. That excites me!

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I do not believe in luck. I strongly believe in the sovereignty of God and His timing. I believe that we are all products of our choices in life. I am thankful for the journey that has brought me here. I am convinced that we are all connected for such a time as this. I believe that we all have a part to play in life that contributes to others and this is my current assignment. I choose everyday to do the best that I can to “do my part”, that I may make it a better place for all I come in contact with.
