Meet Rebekah Lignugaris of Organized For Health in North Metro

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebekah Lignugaris.

Rebekah, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
When my youngest child went to Kindergarten, I was in the fortunate position of being able to soul search and take the time to dive deep and discover my purpose. I realized that I’m a lifelong organizer. I have always enjoyed creating order out of chaos. One of my personal mantras is “You’ve got to have a plan, Bek” as I heard that quite often from my father, an Air Force officer, as I was growing up. He instilled in me the importance of being organized but not in a repressive way. I’ve been honing my organizing skills from an early age. I was the kid that would organize my friends’ purses and lockers at school and their bedroom drawers on sleepovers, and they still liked me! I’ve always wanted to help others, and my natural temperament is to be supportive, not pushy. I find that my clients are at ease with me as I bring my calm focus to projects. I have a Social Work degree from The University of Georgia, and a background in project management. I run an active household with my husband and our three children, dog, and cat. I’m also a bit of a wellness enthusiast. After ruminating on my personality and passions, I created my organizing business, Organized for Health LLC.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
As a relatively new industry, I have found that conveying my value as a professional organizer to potential clients can be challenging. Once we begin the organizing process, they quickly understand my skill set and how it benefits their lives.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We specialize in residential organizing and life transition management. We help our clients organize any area of their home(s) as well as assist with everyday meal planning and seasonal organizing (i.e. holiday decluttering, decorating, gift wrap, hand-lettering cards). Our life transition management includes moving/relocation (including senior moves, up-sizing, down-sizing, right-sizing, in-state, out-of-state, vacation properties, etc.), remodeling/renovation, estate consolidation (following a marriage or a death, for example), and any other life transition that creates chaos such as a new job/career, new baby or family addition, divorce, empty nest, illness or injury, and retirement, to name some of the more common life transitions we have had the privilege of managing for our clients. Organizing is a cathartic experience and a catalyst for progress. Our mission is to improve the quality of life of our clients by helping them create space in their lives for what matters to them. We infuse the wellness aspect into our work, and we are continually amazed and delighted by how the organizing process changes our clients’ lives, in big ways and small. We simply help our clients feel better. Typically, our clients reach out when they are under a lot of stress, and we alleviate that stress by creating, executing, and overseeing a plan to restore peace and balance. We meet our clients where they are and kindly guide them through the organizing process. More important than the order and space we create, it’s the joy that we produce that is so rewarding.

What were you like growing up?
As a military family, we moved often so I spent my formative years developing people skills and adjusting to new environments. I am an introvert, and I have always loved being around small groups of people and really getting to know them. I was a happy child who liked to play with friends. I was a physically active child. I played outside any chance I could get, and I spent about a decade doing gymnastics and playing soccer. I was a hard-working student and earned good grades. I’ve always liked to read, play board games, work puzzles, and watch movies.
