Today we’d like to introduce you to Selena Garde.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Red Dahlia Salon opened on October 31, 2014. At the time, my life plan was focused on becoming a flight attendant. Of course, life sometimes has a way of deciding the real plan, and as a result, I became a salon owner. Friends and family gathered every day to do what needed to be done and cheer us on late into the night. Over a few hardworking, whirlwind months we were off and running full-tilt into this shared adventure. My name is on the official paperwork, but it took many hearts and hands to get to the happy day that Red Dahlia was born. After two and a half very successful years in our small salon (750 sq. ft.), we needed more space and were ready to get busy building a new salon. The Dahlia expanded to a new location on the same street and doubled in size. I wear many hats as the Owner, Manager and Guest Services. We have seven amazing stylist that make the hair-magic happen…Ericka, Hayley, Jenny, Meagan, Sylvia, Suzanne and Wendy Ann, our team also includes Krist, who helps with our confirmation calls, Sandra who is our voice on social media, and Andrew, who assists me with salon business in any way that he is needed, which means a lot! Our team has been together for many years.
We are much more than a ‘work family’ as we support each other through the inevitable bumps that life delivers. Our shared history and that connection make our long days sweeter and more rewarding.
Has it been a smooth road?
As with any new business balancing time, money and energy is always an adventure.
Our new location was over a year behind due to construction issues. However, it was well worth the wait.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Red Dahlia Salon – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are a full-service salon. Salon services include haircuts for men, women, and children, color, up do’s and bridal parties, facial waxing and complimentary bang trims.
We are a team of hard workers who take the time to get to know each person that comes to visit us.
Advanced education classes allow us to keep our skill set sharp so that we can deliver even the most challenging haircut and color transformations.
Our Mantra: Work Hard. Be Kind. Kindness, a sense of humor and a willingness to jump in when your fellow stylists need a hand, these are the values that guide our team.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
We love Senoia because of its undeniable small town charm. The local leaders are committed to a pace of growth that respects the history and Southern stories around every corner. Downtown Senoia is full of small businesses; our neighbors are entrepreneurs! Red Dahlia wanted to be a part of that contagious energy.

I’ve seen that smile on Selena Garde’s face since she was 10 years old. Anyone who knows her knew that she was going to be a success in whatever she tried. Her Red Dahlia Salon is awesome, and all her hard work has been rewarded. See how she praises her employees, that’s how she is to all that deserve her respect. Great article!
