Meet Reggie Dolo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Reggie Dolo.

Reggie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Well, my journey began only four years ago when I was lost and confused on what I should or want to be doing in life. I knew that I had a talent in writing poetry and doing spoken word showcases but still couldn’t “connect the dots” to what my exact purpose was. It wasn’t until I combined my love for writing poetry with my love of music for me to finally decide what I wanted to do in life. It felt like a match made I heaven, then just like that I became a recording artist/songwriter.

Where I am today was all done by me taking calculated risks and the first one was relocating to Atlanta, where I was constantly told that the hip hop music scene currently resided. With consistent networking with the right people in the field that I wanted to be in and putting in a lot of work hours into my craft has gotten me to releasing my first studio project in the next coming month, music videos, and many more!

Has it been a smooth road?
The road was definitely not a smooth one… One of the main struggles was the lack of support at first. Not many believed that I can do it or just ignored that I was attempting to pursue my dream. The second obstacle is similar to many artist and that’s the financial aspect. Without the funds to put into building a business, especially in music, is quite difficult but could allow that to stop me. I do what I can

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am a recording artist/songwriter. I also dabble in a little fitness and fashion modeling as well. I am very proud in the progress that I’ve made thus far and excited for where I’m planning on taking it. I feel that my music is fresh and different. It doesn’t sound much like today’s music but you can still catch a vibe from it.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I highly recommend that if you want to get into the music industry, ATL is definitely a hot spot to get started! Since my relocation to Atlanta, my life has changed drastically and I couldn’t be more excited for what’s to come!
