Today we’d like to introduce you to Regina Doyle.
Regina, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve been a licensed cosmetologist for 12 years. As a little girl, I’ve always had a passion for hair. Growing up I would switch my hairstyles up daily and listen to my mom say, Regina, if you change your hair up one more time!! I started off just family and close friends and as the years went by I finally stepped in the salon life thanks to my mentor Calondra Parker who encouraged me and allowed me to travel the world with her to experience the travel stylist life. To have someone to see what you didn’t see in yourself is a blessing and I greatly appreciate her. Today I serve as the owner of New Beginnings Beauty Bar and God blessed me with a beautiful team Akilah Richard, Tamika Jones, and Jalissa Chaney.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
One of my favorite inspirational songs is by Mary Mary (can’t give up now). Let’s just say I’ve prayed many nights for God to show me what my purpose is and it’s the love for hair. Working two jobs the majority of my life has its pros and cons but when I step in the beauty salon and the reaction of my clients let me know that this is what God has called for me to do. So without the trials and tribulations that I’ve endured, I wouldn’t be able to say I’m Blessed today.

I’m Stylezbygina. I specialize in natural hair care, sewins, and wig units. I’m inspired by everything beautiful. When choosing a different path and branching off on my own, so many people questioned what was I going to name the salon Stylezbygina… no, I wanted something that would be special and have meaning. And I asked all the ladies and days later, we came up with New Beginnings because it’s a New Beginning for everyone in the salon whether it’s dealing with personal life, new surroundings, or just a fresh start at bettering ourselves as mothers and spouses we are taking this leap together this is our NEW!!
I would also like to thank Mayvenn’s hair for allowing me to serve as a stylist for them. They have opened up so many doors for me to gain clientele as their clients are now considered my regulars. What makes me proud? My team, I love the fact that when we are working together, we have a chance to learn from each other or even teach each other a couple of improvements steps. We all specialize in Healthy Hair, we all believe although we tend to rely on weave, we want to ensure our clients that no matter what you decide, WEAVE IS JUST AN OPTION.
What were you like growing up?
Words can’t explain how much I love my parents Reginald (Cherry) Doyle. Growing up in an athletic family, my parents didn’t play about education. They supported me all my life from cheerleading, playing the flute in the band, playing tennis, Jrotc, and, most importantly, showing me loyalty and how I should be properly loved. My parents instilled in me that no matter what the devil meant for bad of God is in the mix, he can turn it around for your good! I’m a very caring person with a great heart and each client I’ve dealt with can vouch that once you get out of my chair, you will know what plan we are taking and your ability to tell someone else that she is a stylist that CARE.
I love my children Arianna Doyle and Tonnell Harris Jr and thank you for understanding that in life to become successful takes a lot of time and patience so with the long nights that I’ve dragged them along in this journey I’m forever grateful that I’m able to be there mommy. And to my Arianna with her upcoming AriisCollection hair line I pray much success in your business and remember the sky is the limit in any of your endeavors.
