Meet Regine Stepherson of Queen Reginee in Metro Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Regine Stepherson.

Regine, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve always had a big personality and it started when I was about 18 years old. That was around the time that I figured out what I was going to study in college which was Mass Media Arts. It was always my dream to become a news anchor only because I thought I had the face but then my good friend Ayana Gunn once asked me, “do you have the voice?” After that, I decided to join an organization at Clark Atlanta University called WSTU Radio Station thanks to Ayana. During my freshman year, we were able to start our own online radio show and that’s where Queen Reginee, the hottest Queen that’s always on the scene was born.

I continued to brand myself as a radio personality by not only joining the organization and creating a show but being consistent with it. Hey, it is my senior year and I the president and I don’t think that’s a mistake. I’ve worked so hard with the station for years now and faith is telling me that it will all pay off.

“Queen Reginee” is more than a media personality but she’s also a mentor. After I could be a residential assistant at CAU, my heart grew for mentorship. By standing courageously by my platform, SHOWTIME, showing how our women take initiatives to mentor and empower young queens. Did I mention I was a campus queen? By having this position, I show queens that the crown doesn’t have to be in your head, but it must always be on your heart.

My whole experience at CAU I could do it all. I was never that student that just went to class and came back to my room. I got out there. I joined a club, I did a pageant. I gain mentees. I made friends and connections. I did an amazing job.

Now I am interning with Rolling Out Magazine and my hard work has allowing me to start new show called Twin Beats along with hard-working host Rachael Leaphart a.k.a Adore Rae. I can’t wait to see where this takes us!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
They say what doesn’t challenge you, won’t change you, so if it’s been hard but its been a big help. I think one of my number one problems is balancing school work with brand work. It gets difficult to choose especially when working in an industry with people who sometimes didn’t even go to college.

Another struggle that I tend to have is choosing between with work that pays the bills and the work that I enjoy that is usually not paid. It makes me feel like I’m wasting so much energy on the wrong things just because I need money fast. Being a server at California Pizza Kitchen is not my career choice but it also trained me to learn how to communicate with different types of people and relate to them.

Please tell us about Queen Reginee.
“Queen Reginee” is a brand that can do it all. My passion is to innovate and motivate people, places, and things. I want to help take different things to the next level in order for my brand and my voice to be taken to the next level. I think what sets me apart from others is my genuinely because I won’t ever invest my time into anything that I do not believe it.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
One of my favorite memories from my childhood was at the age of 17 years oral. I just got a car and my grandmother doesn’t drive ever. Before I received my license, my mother used to take my grandmother out grocery shopping and just taking her everywhere she needed to go that day so when I became able to do the same, I did. I picked my grandma up from home and drove her around to the grocery store, butcher shop, pharmacy, and even the hair store sometimes and that whole experience just taught me about patience and giving. My grandma loved spending the day with me because I took my time with her and did things people I wanted to do it, not because I was asked.
