Meet Rena Rose of 876 NyaMminz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rena Rose.

Rena, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born and raised in Jamaica before moving to the U.S., carrying with me the culture, flavors, and traditions of the island. Food has always been central to my life — it’s how we connect, celebrate, and heal.

Opening 876 NyaMminz was a dream that came from wanting to share that same warmth and authenticity with others.

What started as a vision to bring real Jamaican cuisine to Georgia has grown into a restaurant where people feel at home, whether they’re from the island or experiencing the culture for the first time.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t always been smooth. Like many small businesses, we’ve faced challenges with staffing, supply shortages, and building brand recognition in a competitive food scene.

Introducing authentic Jamaican flavors to people unfamiliar with them was also a learning curve — balancing tradition with approachability.

But every struggle taught us resilience, patience, and the importance of community support.

We’ve been impressed with 876 NyaMminz, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
876 NyaMminz specializes in authentic Jamaican cuisine, cooked with love and tradition. From jerk chicken to oxtail, curry goat, and patties, everything is made with bold island spices and fresh ingredients.

What sets us apart is our dedication to real Jamaican cooking — no shortcuts, no watered-down flavors. We bring the full experience, from the food to the hospitality, creating a space that feels like home.

Our brand is about celebrating culture, family, and good vibes, and that’s what our guests experience every time they walk through our doors.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Authenticity. Staying true to who we are, what we serve, and the culture we represent has been the key to building trust and loyalty with our community.
