Meet Rene’ Fontaine

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rene’ Fontaine.

Hi Rene’, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey started in Chicago Illinois in 2006. I worked for a Salon and Medi spa and my career was thriving. I then moved to Georgia in 2008 due to personal things that was going on in my life and I wanted to continue my esthetic career. Life was going on so I was unable to pursue my career in esthetics. I took a pause in my esthetic career and I became a medical assistant in 2011. That was a great career but I knew that I wanted to continue my passion which is being an esthetician. During this journey, in 2016 I had gotten my bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and then I switched careers and was a practice manager for an opthalmologist. Then Covid hit. I still wanted to pursue my career as an esthetician so I looked into what I needed to do to get a business license to open Bleu Lash & Beauty Spa. This was a home-based business and I serviced friends and my family. I then wanted to get more clients and I did not want strange people in my home, so I was unable to market myself on social media like how I wanted. I took a laser certification class and I knew that this would lead to me being more marketable in this industry. I put a pause on Bleu Lash & Beauty Spa and teamed with Gentle Giant Care. This is a wellness spa and the owner does aesthetic services i.e. botox and fillers. The wellness spa does a plethora of things and I knew that this was a great choice. I am able to pursue the medical side of aesthetics and I enjoy what I do. Being an aesthetician is helping people reach their goals with their skin and correcting the imperfections that may bother people’s outside image. I still have not let go of Bleu Lash & Beauty Spa. I will pursue getting a brick-and-mortar in the near future. I love the journey that I am on and the one thing that I get from this is not to ever give up. Life is about obstacles and it’s up to me to continue on the path to continue my journey.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I had plenty of obstacles that were in my path. I moved from Chicago to Georgia due to divorce. I was a single mom and was in Atlanta on faith. I had gotten a job three days after I moved to Georgia and then that’s when I had to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. The esthetic game was not like how it is now back then. Being a single mom of three was challenging because I was not able to pursue a career in aesthetics like I wanted so that’s when I went back to school to sustain a job to take care of my children. The road was bumpy but this journey made me who I am today.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Licensed Aesthetician and Assistant Laser Practitioner. I do customized facial, hydro facial, microneedling RF, IPL photo facial, tattoo removal, chemical peel, and acne facial.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory is being blessed to be able to visit my maternal and paternal grandparents at the same time. I grew up in New Jersey and my grandparents lived in a duplex house. My dad’s parents lived upstairs and owned the house and my mother’s parents lived downstairs. I loved that because I was able to have the best of both worlds.
