Today we’d like to introduce you to Renee Hall
Hi Renee , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Growing up in Brooklyn, N.Y. I have always done hair. It was my destiny to become an entrepreneur and own my own salon. At the age of 18 is when it became serious. I started charging cloenta more money and turned my mother’s basement into a salon
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been smooth.
1. Good professional staff is hard to find.
2. Being a boss puts you in the spot light. People have their input on how you should do, where you should do it and why you should do it they way they think you should.
3. Working long hours with your staff puts you in a space where you can become overly friendly. You should be friendly but not become friends
4. Being stern and sticking to the business plan was a struggle as well.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a natural hair stylists for over 35 years. I am known for creativity on the crown and my speed
My signature style is a Mohawk. No 2 Mohawks are the same.
I am proud of the ability to create art on the crown and being set apart from other stylists.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I see the beauty industry changing,
I can see salon suites not being as popular as they are now. They are vwry expensive. I can see stylists wanting to back in a salon setting instead of suites. Natural hair is here to stay and will continue to grow in current trends repeating themselves.
