Richard, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Originally from Bronx, New York, I started my tattooing career 11 years ago. After spending the last seven years on a popular reality TV show, I wanted to transition out of TV to get back to what I love- art and tattooing. Because of the politics of reality TV- my previous reputation from television was not a true reflection of who I was, so opening my own business was important to me. My shop Drip Tattoo Collective has grown to be a major success and art/tattoo staple in the South Atlanta community. My shop employs six amazing tattoo artists from all over the country and I pride my business on putting out amazing, quality tattoo work. When I am not managing my tattoo shop Drip, I am a dad, husband and artist. My tattooing style is centered around neo-traditional styles and I love doing custom pieces for clients.
Has it been a smooth road?
For me, my biggest obstacle has come in the form of overcoming people’s pre-conceived notions about me and my abilities based on a character they saw on TV. When people believe they know you, it’s easy for them to set limits on what they believe you are capable of achieving. Without a strong mental foundation, support from my family and friends and the continued love from my fans and clients- it would have been easy for me to give up and not pursue opening my tattoo shop. Going against people’s negative perception of me allowed me to take a risk in opening Drip Tattoo Collective, a place where quality tattoos and art can thrive.

Drip Tattoo Collective is a tattoo shop located in Jonesboro, GA. Our shop employs six amazing tattoo artists and prides itself on being a space for professional, quality tattoo work in the Southside of Metro Atlanta. As the owner, I manage all aspects of the business, from administrative to marketing. Because tattooing is my FIRST love, I tattoo full time as well. I am fortunate to have built up a strong client base with clients from all over the country.
While there are a lot of amazing tattoo shops in Atlanta, I believe Drip Tattoo Co. is different because of not only the skill level and expertise of my artists, but also our team focused approach to the growth of our business. As a shop, our artists are skilled in all styles of tattooing and delivering custom work is always our main priority. All of the Drip artists have a strong art and design backgrounds, which help in delivering A1 tattoos while staying on top of emerging advancements in the tattooing industry.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Drip tattoo co. Is located in south metro Atlanta in the city of Jonesboro. As a proud resident of a south Atlanta city, it was important to me to open a business near a county I resided in, not necessarily in Atlanta. The south side doesn’t always get the same level of attention as the midtown or downtown areas of Atlanta. I wanted Drip Tattoo Collective to be a place where people on the Southside could receive amazing, quality tattoos in a professional, licensed environment at a reasonable price.
