Meet Richard “JR” Reynolds of Eagle Vision Productions in Smyrna

Today we’d like to introduce you to Richard “JR” Reynolds.

Richard, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve always had a love for music and writing. My love for music stems from singing in my church’s choir, while I discovered my love for writing in school when I was given a topic to write about for an end of course test. The freedom I felt from being able to express myself with words was something I had never felt before, and combining the two seemed to be the perfect recipe that makes up who I am today. I knew that being a playwright was my destiny when my grandmother took me to a live annual stage play at church. At that moment, I knew that I wanted nothing more than to make people feel as good as I feel when I sing and write.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I can honestly say that it has been a pretty smooth road, and it’s because I put God first in all that I do. Whenever something is done in His name, He makes the road easy and totally worth it.

Eagle Vision Productions – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I created Eagle Vision Productions to give local talent the opportunity to show off their abilities. It doesn’t matter if you sing, act or write. If you have the gift then Eagle Vision Productions wants you! We are a faith-based/family-based company. Not only do we produce stage plays, but we also produce an amateur showcase called, “Word on the Street”. Nothing makes me more proud than receiving the abundance of support that allows us to sell out almost every show since 2017! The feedback I receive from the audience members, cast, family, and friends is truly the icing on the cake. I know that I’m following God’s plan, which is the title to my most recent stage play when I’m told that my productions have made a positive impact on the lives of others, and have helped them through hard times. That alone is what makes what I do worthwhile. What sets Eagle Vision apart from others is I can only speak for what I believe and I TRULY believe this is to build God’s kingdom! Only what you do for Christ will last.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Working hard and speaking my success in existence. Faith without works is dead. We can pray all day but if you don’t work for what you want, God can’t give you anything! Work hard and enjoy the ride. I’m, of course, looking for someone with a natural gift and hunger for the arts. Someone who wants to grow in their craft as well as in God.
