Today we’d like to introduce you to Rob And Javan.
Hi Rob And Javan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Sure. It started with conversations. Honest ones. Some painful, some healing. My pops and I have always had a unique bond—equal parts real talk and raw tension—but underneath it all was love and a shared desire to understand each other better. I think that’s what birthed Pops and Son Conversations.
We were navigating fatherhood, manhood, and purpose all at once, and realized how rare it is to see Black fathers and sons not just talking—but really listening to each other.. We wanted to capture that. Not just for us, but for the culture.
So we picked up a mic. One episode turned into a series. That series turned into a movement. And now we’re here—having the kinds of conversations that don’t usually make it to mainstream platforms. Real men, real experiences, and real growth.
It’s still evolving. But if you ask how we got here? I’d say: We stopped running from the uncomfortable truths and leaned into them instead.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not smooth. Growth rarely is.
There were moments where our personal relationship made filming tough. We had to confront old wounds—things we never really talked about before the cameras came on. It’s one thing to heal in private, but when you’re doing it publicly, you have to be vulnerable in a whole different way.
There were also times when life just… life’d. Bills, schedules, being a parent, trying to build something from scratch while still figuring out your own place in the world—it gets heavy.
We’ve had disagreements about the direction of the show, about what to share and what to protect. But I think that tension is part of what makes the project real.
We’ve been impressed with Pops and Son Conversations, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our umbrella is Pops and Son Conversations, but the branches spread far. My dad, Robert Malloy, is a veteran and the founder of Keeping Veterans Fit, a nonprofit focused on empowering veterans through wellness, fitness, and purpose-driven mentorship. He also works as a financial literacy educator, a relationship coach, and is active as an actor and model and entrepreneur.
I’m Javan Anderson—writer, poet, actor, entrepreneur and editor in chief of Three Times Magazine, as well as a financial educator with a mission to help people rebuild credit and reclaim financial freedom. Together, we’re bridging generations through conversation, service, and storytelling.
What sets us apart is our honesty. We’re not trying to be perfect—we’re just being real. Whether it’s talking about fatherhood, finances, manhood, or healing, we bring our full selves to every platform we touch. From our podcast to our community outreach, everything we do is about helping people level up—spiritually, emotionally, and financially.
Brand-wise, We’re proud that we’re not boxed in. You might see us speaking at a youth event one day, doing a photoshoot the next, or breaking down generational trauma in a podcast episode. It’s all connected. We’re building legacy not just content.
If you’re looking for transformation, transparency, and truth you’ve found the right duo.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
Atlanta’s got a vibe like no other. The culture here is rich. You can feel it in the food, the music, the way people hustle. It’s a city where creatives, entrepreneurs, and visionaries can really find their lane and build something powerful. I love how unapologetically Black the city is. It feels like a place where legacy and reinvention collide.
What I like least? Sometimes it feels like it’s easy to get lost in the image of success here. There’s a lot of flash, a lot of surface-level connections, and it can be hard to find real community if you’re not intentional. And the traffic? Yeah, that’s a whole sermon by itself.
But overall, Atlanta is a place where if you stay grounded and stay working, your voice can really be heard.
