Meet Robert Beecham of RobsVenture in East Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Robert Beecham.

Robert, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Growing up in the early 90s movies, Disney, action films, and how to videos ruled. You can say my childhood was greatly influenced by hero stories, and tales of triumph, and adversity. Wanting to be the best in the room was definitely a trait picked up from watching old Hollywood films like “ Fist of Furry .“ That was my introduction to Bruce Lee. The Speed, charisma, and wisdom he had was something I wanted to mimic as 6 years old. I lived in something you would call “Rural Suburbia.“ So, at times all there was to do was quote on quote “ work.“ Having a Marine/Entrepreneur as a father. What work consisted, you can use your imagination and guess what a handyman with all his tools can accomplish. A lot of my drive & work ethic derived from the foundation that was laid then.

Although a lot of my time went to helping and working for the family. There was still enough time to step into my first ever Karate studio. I remember the very first class I took! My mother just dropped me off and said: “have fun.“ Little did I know, that was the birth and official start of training, mind, body, and soul. I went on to train at the same Kempo Karate school for 10years + Performing, Teaching the youth, and in school -combat. Self-Respect, Self -Discipline, and Self-reflection are what was most important that I still abide today. It can be said that these values are what kept me for the most part out of trouble.

Growing into my teenage years, wanting to play every sport was an understatement. After I received my 2nd-degree black belt, I definitely wanted to test my capabilities to see if they could be applied elsewhere. 2013 GHSA regional Football champions , Final Four Football Playoffs, GHSA State Wrestling Qualifier, GHSA State Track 4×1 finals runner-ups, and GHSA State Track 400m Finals Qualifier are some of the accomplishments I went on to compete for, before I stepped into college to study business administration at Georgia State University and on my own time study marketing and public relations. Soon after many tough decisions, I decided to step into the workforce. Years later, after countless hours worked a week. New life was found and doors started to open when I accepted fear as the process.

When I made the decision that was shrouded with doubt to drop work and pursue the possibilities in Acting/Production and also stunt work. Production was already my second nature, growing up working Audio Production and Event Production. Concerts, Weddings, Church, Conventions and even festivals. Although leaps were taken, work still had to be put in from ground on up. Working as an extra on setting them we’re experiences/opportunities that I will always take throughout my career. Everything I desired seemed to come into fruition when leaps of faith took. I audition for my first indie film in the spring of 2017 and with no knowing obtained my first lead in a film. Some would say I wasn’t fluent enough in acting since I didn’t go to acting school or programs. But accompanied by that, I would always be the hardest worker in the room, no matter the position. Taking chances on opportunities became a regular thing. Therefore, the doors began to open more and more. Working on productions like Tyler Perry, AMC The Walking Dead, Netflix Stranger things, Starz, Greenleaf, Cobra Kai, Adult Swim, and the list continues from films, web series, and tv- shows.

Always being on Productions required taking professional photos at some point. This is what opened the door into the modeling industry. Working on music videos to editorials, to even working with high fashion. Modeling opened so many other doors through the countless creatives I came across. During this time “ RSBVentures” was birthed. The entrepreneurial flame began to spread. One statement I would say about Atlanta would be the creatives hustle is on another level. “You want to do something here put some hard work & a business card behind it and the possibilities are endless. “Training and teaching have always been a part of who I am. Previously in 2015, I started my own Personal Training business “RSBFITTNESS.” In the start of 2019, I started to Train and Coach at my local kickboxing/boxing Combat gym. I took my first amateur judged kickboxing fight with my X3 fight team behind me, I won 3 rounds unanimous decision. This was a self -revealing experience and will never forget it. I will continue to be the student and help others learn and grow. Starting with the youth around me! “Be the warrior of your own journey,“ if you want to do something? Pursue it with the foot on the pedal like you are headed somewhere as if your late to the party.

– Robert Beecham

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing was smooth about my journey and nothing will be. Where there is light there is darkness. One can not exist without the other. So, I wouldn’t call them struggles. These experiences are what help shape my future. The experiences that have changed me were those when friends were lost along the journey. Always self -reflecting there aren’t many days I don’t reminisce. “Kyle Nelson, Steven Michael Charlton Sr.“ I truly believe things happen for a reason. Having to hustle through every hard experience like running 3k’s just to get to work.
