Today we’d like to introduce you to Robert and Jacinta Cox.
Robert and Jacinta, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
“Two people on two separate but parallel paths had an interaction that would forever change their lives.” Jacinta, simply overhearing a part of Robert’s testimony of how he began a walk of purity in February 2014, could not believe what she was hearing – A man standing in the sanctuary at Victory Church talking openly about his sexual transformation. He was sharing how a spark was lit in his heart after hearing the testimony of another couple’s choice to honor God completely in their courtship. Then hearing how the Holy Spirit brought him to his knees in true repentance at the revelation of how he had treated God’s daughters in the past. He made a vow to God to only respect, honor, and cherish them as his sisters and to protect them.
Little did Robert know that Jacinta had also made a vow to God SEVEN years earlier in March 2008 to present her body as a living sacrifice by abstaining from sexual relations with any man other than her husband. She also prayed that God would bring a man into her life who would honor these desires and so her journey of purity began. We both experienced highs and lows in our individual walks not completely sure how it would all work out… BUT GOD, the great orchestrator knew we were headed towards each other and that He would one day use us together as an example to many. Now it was not love at 1st sight and there were no lightning bolts that day in the sanctuary on October 4, 2015! HOWEVER, an instant spiritual connection had taken place unbeknownst to either of us.
Our common passion to see men and women not only relate to one another in a non-romantic way but to live a holy life for God drew us together. As a result, FFF (Faith, Fellowship, and Fun… Adult Christian Singles in Action) was birthed. FFF is a growing faith-based singles ministry that promotes healthy relationships amongst men and women through purity, service, and fellowship in and out of the church. Creating an ongoing support system to singles as they navigate through life, FFF is committed to fostering spiritual and emotional growth in singles and creating a safe environment for men and women to interact.
During our courtship, we studied the Boundaries in Dating book, realizing there was a lot of jewels that would help us grown stronger spiritually. After much prayer and conversation, the Holy Spirit laid on our hearts to share this book with other singles, which brought about the Boundaries in Dating book study (BID). During the 1st book study, with about 27 singles, a community emerged that caused the participants to connect and fostered growing friendships. As a result, they grew closer to God on their spiritual journey and developed boundaries in their everyday relationships. This became a staple book study of FFF and still is to this day.
We began courting and then relating with a purpose and that purpose was marriage. During the next year, we got to know each other deeper, read books, attended corporate prayer, went through a six-week premarital class, while sitting down with different happily married couples to gain wisdom and understanding about marriage. There were pivotal moments along the way, confirming this “feeling,” and we began to sense that something greater than the two of us was taking place. A Kingdom connection was made, and it grew deeper & stronger and we began to see fruit springing forth resulting from our vows to honor God and each other.
Now as husband and wife, approaching our three-year anniversary, we have been truly blessed by God to have seen our faithfulness and commitment to honor Him come to fruition. In the last three years, we have organized a purity conference, several outreaches and fellowship events and sponsored a second BID book study. We are currently small group coaches at Victory Church and serve in their Pre-married Life ministry as group facilitators. We have a blended family with three children, Jonah 17, who is in the 11th grade, Kaitlyn 22, currently living in Australia, and Andre 29, currently living in Florida. There are so many facets to our story, before and after a marriage that it would take a book to write. So, we will leave it open to you, Kenneth, to ask any questions that will assist in the article.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No venue for the conference ten days before it started. No singles ministry at the church – a burden that caused us to start FFF. Blended family challenges. Involved in a lot of ministries. The situation with a young lady – Robert got a calling from God.
Please tell us about Faith Fellowship & Fun.
Faith Fellowship and Fun was birthed through our common passion and burden for the single community. It is currently listed as an organization in the state of Georgia and we are in the process of establishing it as a non-profit.
We specialize in Singles! FFF is a growing faith-based ministry that promotes healthy relationships among men and women through purity, service and fellowship. Our goal is to create an ongoing support system to singles as they navigate through biblical principles, along with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, to grow confidence in their commitment to living pure while fostering authentic relationships.
We are most proud of seeing the lives that have been changed, the mindsets that have been turned towards God, and the freedom that has taken the place of many of the members of FFF as well as the participants of the Boundaries in Dating book study and the Kingdom Men book study. Many of the men and women who have crossed our path now realize that its possible to honor God with their mind body and spirit and that purity is not just a word but a way of life.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
NOTHING! We don’t believe in Luck, but trust God in the “YES” and the “NO” because this is HIS ministry and we are just stewards of it. We know that if He brought us to it, He would see us through it. If He says Yes than it doesn’t matter what man says, and if He says No, we trust that He knows best.
