Today we’d like to introduce you to Robyn Davis Bacon.
Robyn, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I knew I always wanted to start and own my own business but never knew where or how to begin. When I was younger, I knew I wanted to lead, not only lead but lead by example. No matter what position I was in, whether it be for a school musical or a job I was working, I was always attempting to find a way to work myself up to the top. For example, if I was a part of a group or club-I had to be the President or perform in show choir, I knew I was going to win-Best Performer. Even with my acting career, I strive to be the best I can be at my craft. I was always striving to be the best. When I realized I wanted to specifically start a life coaching business is when I became a lead instructor at Barbizon School of Modeling, and Acting-I noticed that I was creating my own curriculum and focusing on helping these young men and women with issues that they were dealing with and attempting to juggle in their everyday lives. So now, I am focusing on building a brand that helps men and women redefine their lives on their own terms.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road. Some of the struggles along the way would be, will I have clients, marketing, and can I truly make a difference? Everyone deals with the nightmare of second guessing themselves. I had to get over that quickly and understand that I had a purpose and a gift to share. And I knew through my struggles, fears, and circumstances that I can make myself relatable and help others on their own personal journeys on overcoming the same things that I have been through.
Please tell us about the business.
Robyn Evette Life Coaching Services focuses on three words-life, value and power. I always say we start with life or focus on valuing our life and end with power. Once we begin to value our lives, by putting ourselves, significant others, or just the ones we love first, we become something very powerful. I also have focused on a course that I tie into my life coaching services titled Building While Living-I help families see the value in life insurance while they are still living, I always say life insurance is so much more than a death benefit, I also focus on the many elements and hidden gems in life insurance. I am most proud of the fact that I can take something that I was already doing coaching others, speaking about the value of life insurance as a licensed agent, and create a business out of it. What sets me apart from others is that I have a lot of layers about me. I always say you can’t put me in a box because I won’t fit! I want Robyn Evette Life Coaching Services to be a brand that focuses on people’s passions, knowing that it is ok to continue to reinvent and redefine your lives exactly how you want it and not being ashamed of change!
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory from my childhood was winning the Best Performer award in show choir during my junior year in high school. I was told that I would never win that another girl wins every time. I took what they told me and I studied videotapes(yes it was that long ago videotapes lol) and I studied her, and I noticed that it was her facial expressions that stood out. So by me taking time out to study and focus on who was the best, that made me the better Performer, which in the end landed me the Best Performer Award.
