Today we’d like to introduce you to Ronesha M. Bourne.
Ronesha, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Shortly after high school, I joined the United States Navy in 2007, completing my four-year enlistment and receiving an honorable discharge. I started going to Tidewater Community College in VA Beach, VA. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do exactly, so I remained in school eventually relocating to Atlanta in 2012 to pursue my career in the finance field and finish my Finance degree. While attending DeVry University, I started feeling like a job in the corporate world wasn’t for me and it was then I had an “AH HA” moment! Working a 9 to 5 in corporate America always felt unnatural to me regardless of how much it paid. On the other hand, becoming an entrepreneur, being my boss, and setting my schedule came so natural to me that I had no choice but to shoot my shot. I started taking taxation courses and graduated completing my B.A. in Finance.
2014 was the starting point for my entrepreneurial journey after being a stay at home mother for several years. Now 2020, I’m the proud owner of Bourne Tax Preparation and Inflatable Arts. So long story short, I secured my first retirement at 30 and by running my businesses, I’m able to fulfill all my goals and dreams. I can say my journey has been nothing short of amazing so far.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Wow…. My journey didn’t start nice and smooth, more like a whole lot of trials, tribulations, doubts and confusion at first! No, it hasn’t been easy. My biggest obstacle was not knowing what direction to go in because I had so many ideas and I didn’t have any mentors for guidance at the time. Then, starting my family put a halt on things because now I was juggling life as a wife and mother. However, it’s been quite rewarding at this point to see how far I’ve come with tremendous support from my family and friends. Pursuing your passion isn’t always easy because it requires a lot of discipline and sacrifice.

I’m an IRS Certified tax preparer registered in the state of Georgia, but my tax capacity can fulfill a multitude of tax matters nationwide. Its motto speaks for itself… “Balloons For Any Occasion” I specialize in balloon twisting, balloon designs and more. I’m creative, so I always ask my clients to challenge me with more complex designs.
What I’m most proud of as a business owner is that I’m dedicated to my businesses, I’ve put in blood, sweat, tears and sleepless nights to get here! I love going to my websites and seeing MY name!
My fearlessness sets me apart from others. I’m not afraid of the unknown when it comes to business. My intangible skill of being trainable always puts me in a position to learn from those around me. I love absorbing knowledge from those that I can learn from, this has been the biggest asset as an entrepreneur. Being teachable, having self-confidence, and learning how to adapt has saved me time on this journey. The most amazing part about it all is that it’s just starting. I have so much more in store and there are big plans in the making!
What were you like growing up?
Memories of me as a child, I remember being the girl in the neighborhood who was different and would act as an advocate for my classmates. I would mingle with all the different groups of kids, whether it was girly girls, book worms or playing ball with the boys. I would deviate from how others did things and explored different avenues on how to get those same tasks accomplished my way, I thought outside the box. I’ve always seen diverse approaches in every task and never stuck with one way of doing things. I have always been a critical thinker. Growing up with inadequate opportunities taught me how to pivot at an early age and that quality has remained with me throughout my life.
