Today we’d like to introduce you to Roslyn Brown.
Roslyn, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
“The Rozz”, LOL, started snapping pictures around the age of 12 using those disposable cameras. Back then you had to send the film off and wait for days until you could get them back.
I spent so much money on film and pictures but my parents never complained about it. I purchased my first real camera when I was 16 years old. It was an Olympus Stylus. I had to put it on layaway at the local K-mart in my hometown. It cost me $140 bucks! That was a lot of money for me. It was the first time and last time I used layaway! I hated paying money on something I could not hold or take home. I took so many great pictures with that camera, about 7 years’ worth and then I lost it.
Fast forward to roughly 2 years ago, I decided to start taking pictures again. I had never stopped taking pictures however, I was only doing it for myself, family and friends as a hobby. I enjoy embracing beautiful things and moments, capturing them to be seen forever.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The one obstacle I can think of is over-thinking my editing. It has to be just right and sometimes I spend many hours at the computer to get it just right.
So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the RB Photography story. Tell us more about the business.
I am a photographer. I specialize in outdoor photography of families, objects and nature. I am most proud of the families and married couples I’ve captured. I cannot speak for other photographers; however, I care deeply about the work I am doing for my clients. I sincerely want them to enjoy their photos.
