Thanks for sharing your story with us Ryan. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
The way I have gotten started with my clothing line is usually the typical way anybody else would. I have taken the time to research and see what it takes for you to run own clothing line business. When I was doing music with my younger brother, Lenroy Calnick Jr, we started to create merchandise for that moment of time. The name of that line was called “Hvmble & Misvnderstood.” Then, I took a break from that and just started fresh with the brand name called “Hvmbly Riich Apparel” which gave me a better feel about the clothing brand. I started to see the vision clearly on that and started to brainstorm and get a full understanding of what the brand meant to me. Once that happened, I started sketch designs, and find a logo that was unique and different. The name “Hvmbly Riich” was different enough to start with. I wanted to create something that wasn’t accustomed to the eye of the people. When you do see it, you will have to question, “what does that mean?” or where did you get that from?” So when I did end up creating logo after logo, I created the first website myself and got the name trademark. I then started to look up what the clothing line will be offered to the people. I started off with a t-shirt for men and women. I want the brand to be unisex. I started off selling the t-shirts on my website, and in the streets. Then, I have seen the reaction of people who thought it was cool and wanted more. I then started looking at manufacturers that did dad hats. Found one, and tried that company out, and provided me with the dad hats I could sell to my customers. I have had the chance to get my brand name spread little by little. Social media I have created its own page, and also create Instagram content. I have a good support system behind that loves the idea, and wants more products from the brand.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road as I would like, but those struggles don’t last anyways. Some struggles I have faced with the clothing brand is that you need money to invest in yourself. Everyone knows money is mostly always the struggle of trying to lift your brand off of the ground. Another struggle I have faced during this road is that everyone will not support you in the beginning. Face the fact that everyone will not be happy about you chasing your dream, and will have a difficult time supporting you. Another struggle I went through was also the challenge in believing in yourself, at most times I did, but then it will be those days where you feel like giving up. My plan is to not give up.

The business “Hvmbly Riich Apparel” is a clothing brand for the individuals who define success their own way. We all have a different perspective on what makes you successful, and I feel it’s to much pressure on people to look at success that “one way.” I want to spread a vibe to people that you are successful from the beginning, just from being God’s creation. Your rich in different ways, even spiritual, all you have to do is look deep. Most times, people aren’t confident in themselves because of what society tells us what we should be, what we should have, how we look. And if you don’t fit in, you feel like your not worth it at all, which causes people to be depressed, and stressed out. I want people to be optimistic and realize you were always worth it no matter what they say about. Appreciate the small things in life, doesn’t always have to be materialistic. Look into what makes you happy, and once you find that, don’t let anyone take that away from you.
The business is selling clothing apparel for men, women, kids wear, and accessories. Know for the name itself, or the logo. I am proud as a company that we have the vision of where we want to go, and that fact we make people feel a different vibe through our clothing. To keep it real with our people, do good business, and keep creating unique content.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I like about the city is that so much goes on, you can get creative out here. I love being creative and getting a different atmosphere from Buckhead to Bankhead etc. Also, where the business happens, and better opportunities if you take advantage of them. If you work hard enough, you can reach places. What I like least about the city like any other individual is the traffic. Then, the violence, but that happens everywhere. Otherwise, it’s a cool place to make some moves as a younging.
