So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
MOSAIC is an acronym for us, it stands for Maintaining the Onus of Synergy, Authenticity and Independence in our Community. Moon was my husband’s nickname. He lost his battle with Brain Cancer. He also challenged me to take the leap into entrepreneurship after 13 years in education. I was taken to a Paint Studio to paint a month after my husband passed and it was the first time that I didn’t think about the pain. It also reminded me of how much I loved to create. I decided to start my own painting business, because I was sure that others could use the therapy and fun that comes with it. We travel all over Georgia and beyond. We take everything that is needed for painters to create great art. We create a whole experience around people having fun painting and connecting with each other. We also give great kid’s paint parties. We also offer Celebrity Paint by Number canvases and Painted Pet events. We’re known for our professionalism, punctuality, sense of humor and creativity. We’re family owned and operated.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
We have had our challenges. Some of our struggles were figuring out what worked for us, pricing when we painted at restaurants and marketing were a couple of big challenges for us. There are thousands of painting businesses, and I initially researched many of them. However, I wanted to create our niche and that took time. I feel like we have 95% of the kinks worked out now that we’re going into our 2nd year of business.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the MOSAIC Moon – A Pop Up Painting Experience story. Tell us more about the business.
I am most proud of our customer service and the quality of our supplies. We are constantly creating new, original, unique art. We really cater to our painters. I’m also proud that we deliver exactly what we promise. What sets us apart is that we teach 4-6 pieces of art at the same time. Also what sets us apart is our approach to the activity of painting. We absolutely believe in the therapy of it.

Pricing:
- Painting on Purpose (Fundraisers) – $40 a painter(the more painters, the more money your organization will make. From $10-$20 a person depending on the number of painters. (minimum of 10)
- Private Residential Painting Events – $35 per painter – We also have group rates starting at 20 painters. (minimum is 6)
- Kids Painting Events – $20 per painter (ages 5-16) (minimum of 6)
- Celebrity Paint by Number Event – $45 per painter (Each canvas is created in detail) (minimum of 6)
