Sakima, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have always been fascinated with the beauty industry. From styling my Barbie dolls and having them host fashion shows, to spending countless hours watching YouTube tutorials trying to get that “slay” just right! So when I came across permanent makeup, I was in awe!
Like wait… you mean to tell me that people can wake up “beat” and ready to conquer the day without spending hours in the mirror?! I knew it was something I had to learn! My passion has always been the healthcare profession. I was an EMT for five years and am now a Paramedic. To be honest, it was my world until I discovered PMU.
Truthfully my line of work can take a toll on you both physically and mentally. It was refreshing to discover a hobby that I was not only passionate about, but that provided an escape from those daily stressors. I found joy in making people feel beautiful. Now I tell people, I save brows by day and save lives by night!
Has it been a smooth road?
Finding balance has been the biggest struggle of being a new business owner. I started my business while I was still in school. This allowed me to be really flexible with my scheduling, as my business is appointment based.
Now being back in the field full time, I found it more difficult to continue to handle the volume of clients I gained as well as service returning ones. That’s when I decided to hire help.

Vixen Beauty Microblading specializes in permanent eyebrow makeup. As we continue to expand we will be adding eyeliner, lipstick, stretch mark camouflage, and areola restoration tattoos. What makes me proud is our consistency — providing quality work, EVERY time, at an affordable rate.
Being a medical professional not only reinforces my knowledge gained as a PMU artist but has allowed me to train other professionals at a higher standard. We love the fact that our clients can be assured while we want to enhance your beauty, your health is our TOP priority.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I feel like Atlanta has become a mini Hollywood over the past few years. This makes it a prime area for businesses like mine. The beauty industry is always evolving, and we plan on staying in front of the race. Whatever your niche is I’m sure there’s a market for it in Atlanta.
