Today we’d like to introduce you to A. Salvador Sierra.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Born in Mexico City, Mexico, my family relocated to Aurora, IL, when I was 5. There I attended both High School and College. On a whim, I visited Atlanta with a friend the summer of 92; I picked up & moved here that fall! I’ve spent the next 25 years climbing the corporate ladder, being involved with several insurance companies as a Business Analysis. With the Economic downturn in 2008 & the changing landscape of the corporate world, I was forced to look at the future.
Through a rapid sequence of events ranging from the incredibly fortunate, all the way to those that test the will found deepest in your core. I came upon an opportunity. I put myself in the unique position of being able to create a career that resonates strongly within me because it is a true passion of mine. Estate Sales are evolving; they are expanding from the traditionally held idea that it is an option to liquidate the former belongings of a recently deceased loved one, and has grown to encompass assisting in homeowners downsizing, relocating, and an option for individuals looking to prepare a house full of items for sale.
Of course, we can’t forget the ever more “I have too much stuff!” My passion is not only in the “treasure hunt” for that incredibly unique piece but in helping others. We’ve based GB Estate Sales on the “We’re here to assist you” philosophy. Customer service comes first and foremost, and we take pride in our ability to cater to the specific needs of every client because every sale is equally as unique as the client themselves.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Of course we’ve had our obstacles or bumps in the road, but for the most part, it has been a very positive experience.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Grey Baron Estate Sales – what should we know?
I am drawn to this field because it centers so firmly around helping people deal with life’s major events, and events and situations can be very overwhelming to deal with alone if it requires them to divest of their personal or business assets. We provide estate liquidation services to the metro Atlanta & Rome Georgia areas, and have been everywhere from Woodstock to McDonough, to Buckhead, and everywhere in between. My company’s mantra is.
“To the absolute best of our abilities, provide a completely transparent and professional estate liquidation service to every family who contacts us.” Sometimes, I see myself as a matchmaker of sorts. Meaning that I help find connections between people that ring the bell of the age-old adage; “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” I came into this business, not for the goal of becoming wealthy, but rather for the fulfillment of helping individuals when it is most needed. Honesty, Integrity, and Trustworthiness are my company’s tenets, that run alongside our mantra.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My industry mentor is a life-long Atlanta native who has been in the business for over 10 years in Georgia until she relocated to Alabama – Kimy Kennedy-Stewart. My supporters are numerous; however, my biggest cheerleader is my husband whom I legally married in 2011.
I am very fortunate that my mother was able to be with me through that journey. A few groups of people worthy of mention include all of the GBES Team Members, all of our Post-Sale Partners, Associates that feed us leads, Simple Finds (for the home), for assisting in the company’s startup, and of course, the always blossoming following of dedicated repeat customers and clients, for which we have been able to form strong, long-lasting, and palpable positive relationships.
