Meet Samira Jones of Teen Influencer in Gwinnett

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samira Jones.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Samira. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m 17 years old, and still finishing off high-school as an upcoming senior! Back in September of 2019, I decided to make an entirely new Instagram, just to get a fresh start and aim for something different. I started off my junior year just simply taking pictures like any normal teen would, and decided I wanted something more and started to explore my options as a “brand ambassador” around October of last year. I started reaching out to pretty much any brand I came across and quite honestly: It wasn’t all that hard for me to start quickly building up brands to ambassador for. Like I tell girls who ask me how I started my road to becoming an influencer, anyone can become a brand ambassador.

I genuinely enjoyed the idea of getting my own personalized code to share with followers and receiving discounted clothes… the small things. However, I didn’t so much enjoy the idea that it didn’t set me apart from any of the other millions of brand ambassadors. I then decided it was time for me to stop and focus on building my platform. Which brings me to now, around the beginning stages of Covid-19 in January, I decided to finally take that leap of faith, when I had a little over 3,000 followers on Instagram. I am now well over 3,000 followers, coming in strong with a little over 7.9k followers and growing everyday. I now proclaim the title as a social media influencer. Working with some of my dream brands, big and small, to create content.

Has it been a smooth road?
That’s a great question. If I’m being completely honest, all influencers have their good days & bad days as any normal person would. I can honestly say that I am grateful to be working with such flexible brands. It can be very stressful trying to find organization through all of the chaos. Trying to find structure has been my biggest milestone, but I’ve formed different techniques to stay organized and keep things less hectic. Another major struggle for me has been mentally preparing myself for the title of an influencer, Sometimes I get a sense of bombardment, but that too is easing as time goes by and I find comfort in consulting influencers who too, feel the way I do. Just being able to communicate with influencers, like myself, brings a sense of understanding and peace of mind.

Please tell us about Teen Influencer.
To give you guys an insight of what exactly an influencer/Creator is, for the type of promoting I do, which is fashion, it can be best describes as, a personality that has a large number of followers on social media creates mainly fashion content and has the power to influence the opinion and purchase behavior of others with their recommendations. I work with brands directly through Instagram, who either reach out via Direct message or Email with the desire of working with me through collaborations.

I think I’m best known for choosing small brands to work for and uniquely incorporating their clothing, jewelry, etc. into my post. Something that I am consistently working on and brainstorming to make sure I give the best content possible. I would definitely have to say I am most proud of how this has shaped me into a beautiful person, who finds purpose in what I do, and strives for something more and higher in life than this. What Uniquely sets me apart from the many influencers out there is the content I create and put out. I don’t aim for the traditional photos. I aim for something different every time to make my feed is as unique as possible. Sure there may be plenty of influencers with a higher ranking than me in terms of followers, but what really sets those people apart?

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I don’t think the field of influencers will change all too much . However, Within the next 5-10 years, I see myself doing the complete opposite. I see this as something temporary for me, almost like a high school sport. In the next 5-10 years, I’ll be between the ages of 22-27, most likely at the midway point of my modeling career. As of now, I am an aspiring fashion model, with hopes of being signed in the year of 2020. I actually have an opportunity coming up, so in the next 5-10 years, I hope to come back as someone high up in the modeling industry to tell you guys I made that opportunity & I am now traveling the world as a supermodel.
