Today we’d like to introduce you to Sara Pace.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I had always dreamed of a career in Real Estate, but life circumstances didn’t allow for that until just a few years ago. At age 58, I left my “safe/salaried” job and the very next week, I enrolled in a real estate class. For two weeks, I went to school for 9 hours per day and studied 3 hours every night. I was determined not to one of the 50% who fail the state test on the first try! Since that time, I’ve loved serving my clients in buying and selling homes.
One great thing about this profession is that while you work ALL of the time, there is flexibility to serve others and have some great family time. I lead a discipleship group of five women from my church, Perimeter, and also get to lead a book club weekly at the elementary school near me. Best of all, I have three local grandchildren that I get to love on and indulge!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s definitely had its speed bumps! I made the decision to pursue this career as I sat with my Mom in the final ten days of her life. That was in April. In November of that same year, my precious Mother-in-law passed, and then exactly 30 days later, her husband followed her home. It was an emotionally draining time and a very hard time to be launching into something brand new.
I was fortunate to have been selected to be on the #1 team in the SE for the #1 Broker in the world, and I fulfilled the role of a Listing Agent for about nine months. I learned a whole lot…I will liken it to getting my Master’s Degree in RE! But what I missed was the personal interaction with clients. It was super fast-paced, which was great but didn’t allow any time for nurturing those I was working with.
I had served multiple roles at an inner-city ministry, ultimately as a fundraiser, working alongside a high-profile former athlete. I was accustomed to serving, and believe me, walking someone through the sale or purchase of a home is definitely ministry! I wanted that personal connection, so I left the team and went out on my own.
Just before the Covid lockdown, I realized that my business was growing beyond what I was comfortable with as an individual agent and lured a good friend to join me to create our own team, named Atlanta Platinum Property Group. Bryan Stradley has 15 years in the business and I needed him! We’ve realized that we really complement each other, and we are so thankful to be working together. We also hired a project-based admin, which is a giant help.
But starting all of this right before Covid was interesting timing. However, we used the first couple of months during lockdown to build our infrastructure, and when the doors opened up again, we were ready for business. No need to let grass grow under your feel…there’s always an opportunity to move forward!!
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Bryan and I have 20 years combined experience in Real Estate Consulting, and we pride ourselves on really listening to our clients and then exceeding their expectations. We are concierge-level consultants, and we are creative in the sales arena. We know that our clients have worked hard for their money, and they expect us to do the same.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Oh, that’s a good one. I was petrified of heights, and my family took a trip to Lookout Mountain when I was a child. When we reached the Swinging Bridge, I was really pitching a fit! My little five years old self didn’t realize that the boards were attached to the chains… I thought one wrong move, and we would all go tumbling down. My sweet daddy tried to carry me, but I opted instead to crawl across. Somehow that made me feel more in control. I’ve never lived that one down with my family!
