Today, we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Elizabeth Beach. Sarah was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Caitlyn Mims.
Sarah, can you walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have been writing for as long as I can remember. Telling and creating stories has always brought me an indescribable feeling. Writing was a dream job I never knew was possible until recently.
Back in 2020, I went through one of the darkest seasons of my life. I lost an emotionally safe place to live, my job, the man I thought I was going to marry, my physical health, and my mental health. On top of all this, COVID hit. I was alive, but not a bit of me was truly living.
During this time, I kept a journal in which I wrote every thought: the good and the bad. Reading through everything that I was writing, I saw something forming, but I wasn’t sure what it was. I was so engulfed in my pain that I didn’t see something beautiful being birthed.
Over the course of the next year, I was able to heal from a lot of what had happened. I felt a tiny bit of courage to tell my story. After talking to a few close friends and family members, I decided to self-publish my journal as a poetry book. One thing led to another, and now, just three short years later, I am a signed author with a professional book writing company.
A dream I never knew was a reality is now staring me in the face, and it is beyond humbling. There is a sincere sense of gratitude that comes from knowing the worst season of your life is now propelling your dream forward.
I used to be a child creating stories, dreaming of sharing them, and now I am telling stories for the encouragement and growth of others.
Let’s talk about your work and career – what else should we know?
Everything I write emanates from a place of pure authenticity and genuine human emotion. I never censor my feelings or underestimate their intensity. When I write, I persistently revise until I achieve a sense of peace by capturing the essence of the emotion or feeling I aim to evoke in myself and the reader. Although they may be reading my story, I want them to feel connected and find relevance in their own lives. My writing is personal, yet it resonates universally. What I cherish the most about writing in this particular style is the beauty that arises from the raw and transparent nature of the poetic pieces. It brings people together and fosters an incredible community. My objective is for my readers to realize they are not alone in their emotions. While our experiences may differ, we all share the same fundamental human feelings, which unite us all.
Caitlyn Mims has been a great friend to us and I know you’ve got a great relationship as well. Maybe you can tell our audience a bit about Caitlyn and your experience with them.
I adore working with Caitlyn Mims. She has been one of my closest friends for years now. We met at our college orientation and hit it off instantly. It was actually her idea for me to pursue writing as a career. I owe her a lot for her support and belief in my dreams and gifts.
She is extremely creative and one of the hardest working people I know. Her work ethic and drive is something that is bleeding off on to me. I admire her grit and passion for everything that she does. Watching her live her life is extremely inspiring.
I love being a co-creative with her. Having Caitlyn involved in my writing brand truly makes the biggest difference. I am where I am today because of my friendship and collaboration with her.
