Meet Sarina Martin of Sarina The Realtor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarina Martin.

Sarina, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. There I started off doing Commercial Real Estate straight out of high school. Unfortunately, that was when the market crashed and the business that I was working for went under. So, looking for new opportunities, my family and I moved to Atlanta, GA. I have been here for ten years and fell in love with the city and the culture. My goal here is to help my community achieve success and wealth within real estate and teaching the importance of homeownership.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It definitely has not been a smooth road and is still a road I am currently traveling on. First is when the market crashed in 2008 and the company I was working underwent out of business. That actually encouraged me to move to Atlanta. I did not go straight into real estate once I came here but instead went into the hospitality industry. Bartending gave me lots of connections and resources to launch my real estate business. At times I get discouraged but I have a great team behind me that keeps me going.

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am Realtor with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Georgia Properties. I am the person you would contact if you are looking into anything that deals with real estate. That includes buying, selling, renting, investing, or land. I cover all aspects. I specialize in investment properties, home flips, and renting. I love finding neighborhoods that are up and coming. Finding homes that needs a little work and turning that home into a profitable flip.

I am most proud of teaching the younger generation about homeownership or investing in real estate to make a profitable income. What sets me apart from others in my field is that I genuinely care about the investment. I don’t do a deal just because I know I will get paid from it. I do a deal to make sure it is right for my client and profitable. I’m not afraid to tell my client to walk away from something that does not fit their needs.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start over the one thing I would have done differently is doing it sooner!
