Meet Scott Ivey of Neighbors Custom Woodwork in Peachtree City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Scott Ivey.

Scott, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
For years I have loved woodworking. I would build things in my garage growing up, and collect whatever tools I could find. Eventually other people began to notice that the quality of the work was growing with me. Until just last year I had always made furniture, signs, and whatever other contraption I could think of for me, my family and close friends. When we moved to the Atlanta area, I moved next door to a like-minded, carpentry-proned entrepreneur. We hit it off, and “Neighbors Custom Woodwork” was born.

We’re a small company with big dreams, and an ever-growing clientele. You can find NCW work in homes all over the South, and other various venues from restaurants to neighborhood parks. Every item is though fully crafted to the customer’s exact specifications. We make sure you love it!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
With anything that starts from scratch, there are bound to be a few speed bumps along the way. NCW was no different. Marketing, and just general visibility is still an issue as we’re tucked back in a comfy Peachtree City Cul-de-sac. Time and consistent quality have been our best friends, however… word of mouth and a little social media action have kept us over the hump!

Neighbors Custom Woodwork – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We’re known for quality, customized furniture and wood designs. It’s our creativity that sets us apart. You won’t find other places with quite the variety of designs and inventory as NCW.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I think our first 5 star review was a big moment for us. Just being able to create things that other people want/enjoy/love is as rewarding as it gets.
