Meet Sean Anderson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sean Anderson.

Hi Sean, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am an independent musician out of Nashville, TN. I moved to Atlanta in December of 2020. I literally had no plan. I simply prayed to the “Most High” and asked if He could please order my steps, for I was planning on taking a leap to Atlanta.

At the time in late 2020, I currently was sleeping in a creative office space. Leasing an office for $400 a month. Where I was currently running a podcast titled “Higher Frequencies”. Burnt out currently from setting up the interviews myself, doing the post-production from my interviews (film & audio). After I made a decision that I was tired of sleeping in an office unit, I decided to up and leave for Atlanta. The idea of being in Tennessee was brooding to me after spending around two years homeless trying to figure things out. I packed up my Chevy & Atlanta became the new destination for me. The thought of me leaving Nashville was abstruse to my loved ones and I felt little support regarding this decision.

As I’m getting to Atlanta, the only thought I had in my head was welp I’m either going to sleep in my car or I’m going to figure out where to stay as I currently didn’t have anywhere to lay my head. A friend of mine, whom I matched with on a dating app from around 2019. offered me a place to stay as I attempted to figure things out. I decided to get on FaceBook and let family members know whom resided in Atlanta that I was here. A female cousin of mine reached back out and asked where I was staying at. I replied at a friend’s house; however, she wants me out in a few days. She offered to give me a place to stay in exchange for a rent payment of $600 monthly. Seemed fair for she had just bought a new 2 bedroom home with a bonus room. I thought to myself finally home to lay my head at. I proceed to give her rent in December for it was early in the month. Mind you I did just get a full-time job that was paying $18 an hour. So I felt like I could wing it till I figured out my next move. So my first week of work in the cold of December went like this. I would work from 8 AM to 5 PM, come home and work on my music. I began to turn myself into an artist. My dream ever since I could remember as a teenage boy. I forgot to mention I was falling asleep often during the first week of training. Well, I was able to get through my first week of work.

However, get this. The second week started and halfway through the week, I got fired. Mind you, I got the job from a temp agency. The temp agency I was employed with called and said I was being fired. This backed things up as I already was paying a car note, phone, and Atlanta is flat out expensive with gas and food. I couldn’t pay my cousin’s rent in January. She told me I had till the 23rd of January 2021 to get out, Literally had nowhere to go. So I packed my things up in a storage unit and thugged it out in my car. From late January to May of 2021. About 4-5 months just writing new lyrics to beats sleeping in my car rain, snow, sleet, hail. I met a guy at Ponce City market who would become a good friend of mine and engineer and master my project. I spent that summer through winter recording new music with him. I was so locked in on this project. In May of 2022, I officially dropped an EP/Demo tape called the Amalgamation Tape Vol. 1 This is my story and I’m sticking to it lol. I have learned a lot from just leaving my comfort zone and the comfortability of a 9-5.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Yes, most definitely obstacles along the way. Nobody said that this path was going to be easy. Nor did I expect it to be. In my recent song on the EP, I have a song titled this very thing, “Obstacles”. I’ve survived being homeless with little help or any guide towards what I’ve been pursuing in life. I choose to stick to the path and stay the course because too my energy and emotions are already invested in this.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an independent artist currently. I have a background in YouTubing and podcasting as well, I am most proud that I started this endeavors however, I know I could be a little more consistent in these areas.

I guess what sets me apart from everybody is the fact that I have been willing to give up to go up. Not too many people with give up completely everything to give themselves a chance at success in life.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me most happy honestly is every day taking another breath to have a shot at making my dreams a reality. I can literally change the trajectory of my life, especially since relocating to Atlanta.
