Meet Sean King Gahdiliel Armstrong of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sean King Gahdiliel Armstrong.

Hi Sean King Gahdiliel , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started acting in 2009 while living in Washington, DC. I got a part in a student film at Howard University. After moving back to Atlanta I continued pursuing acting and going to whatever auditions I could find. I eventually joined Central Casting as a background actor. I used that experience to learn on set and to talk the principal actors and trying to pick their brains on how to succeed in the film business. During that time I started training and taking acting classes. After a few years of doing that I started to get small roles in indie films. Fortunately for me, the landscape changed and streaming platforms became available allowing me and other actors and filmmakers like myself to get more opportunities to grow in the business. Soon, I started writing and producing my own films. Now I have two films l wrote and produced streaming online. I’m in the process of finishing up a mini series called “I used to luv”.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely haven’t been a smooth journey on this path. There were times when I thought that a film that I was in was going to “Be the one” that will change my career, but it never saw the light of day. That could be disappointing, but I learned to keep going. Even though it seems like everything is against you at times you can’t stop. There’s going to be up and downs, therefore perseverance is needed. You have to believe in yourself when know one else does. Sometimes I look back at some of my accomplishments and feel proud how far I have come.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As a filmmaker I specialize in writing, acting and producing my own films. I’m known as an actor and producer who’s been dedicated and consistent. I’m most proud of the knowledge I’ve gained and the success I’ve obtained throughout the years. Being on the local news and packing out the theater for my first feature film was something I’ll never forget. What set me apart is my respect for the craft of acting and filmmaking. I believe there’s no shortcuts. Even now I feel like I have to take it up a notch in order to go to the next level. Even if that means getting a new coach and mentor.

How do you think about luck?
I do think that you have some form of luck to succeed along with a consistent work pattern. A person can be passionate about something and never succeed in it. Yes, I do believe in being lucky. I also believe in doing the work. Without work faith doesn’t exist.
