Sejfudin, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My story all began in March 2018. I was a senior at the University of Georgia studying computer science. I soon realized that I wanted to change my path in life and do what I love Cars. I never really bought and sold any cars when I started my dealership. However, I was determined not to fail and learn everything that there was in the business. Everything changed the summer of 2018 when I was expelled from the university and was unable to attend UGA ever again. This was possibly one of the biggest failures of my life, knowing that my parents pushed for me to finish and get my degree.
However, I shortly turned this into the fuel to build my dealership into the company it is today. I sold my personal car and my motorcycle to get the funds needed to start. Soon after, I bought my first car for the dealership and sold it within a week. I was full of excitement and determination and shortly after, I finished with 40 cars sold within the first six months. With the help of my friends and family, I began learning more and more about used cars and by the next year, after almost 100 more cars sold, I had decided to move from my small 150 sqft office into a 1500 sqft shop and just keep doing what I do best. Buying and sell used cars.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Every business has its ups and downs, and a dealership is no different. In this type of business, you are essentially investing thousands of dollars into these cars, most sight unseen, and hoping that you will be able to sell them for a profit. There has been multiple times where I had invested every dollar I had into my inventory and some of the cars either lose or break even. The sooner you realize that this is part of the game, the better you will be. Most big dealerships have a set work schedule and certain people for jobs such as financing, detailing, mechanics, etc. But, when you are a small dealer, you are responsible to be able to do all those jobs for your company while maintaining somewhat of a social life. That has been my biggest struggle so far, you essentially are working 24/7 and have to be able to put your company over your social life in order to even be able to compete with the big brand dealerships. There are times where you will be stuck in the office till 11, on any day of the week, selling a car to a customer.

I own Sej Auto Sales. We sell used quality cars at a great price. Our inventory ranges from a cheap old reliable car to even a 2018 low mileage car. We don’t really specialize in one type of vehicle. We have sedans, SUVs, trucks, and even motorcycles. I personally do everything from finding the car to getting it ready to selling it to you. What I’m most proud of Sej Auto Sales is that we are known for our prices. What sets us apart from bigger dealerships, is our pricing, we have some vehicles that are some of the best-priced vehicles in the nation and we are able to do this while maintaining a quality used car that you could easily find at you’re biggest brand dealership lots.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We have many plans for the future. Right now, we have moved into a 1500 sqft warehouse, and we are already outgrowing it. We plan to be on a full possibly 50-100 car lot within the next year. As we transition into a car lot, we will hopefully reach new heights and possibly begin tapping into the sports/luxury car market. We plan to be the Go-to dealership for anyone, from a parent looking for a cheap car for their child, to a person looking for a high-end vehicle for their family.
