Hi Selena, thank you so much for sitting down with us again. For folks who might have missed our initial interview, can you start by briefly introducing yourself?
I’m Selena Lightfoot I’m from Union City ,Ga. I’m an artist, entrepreneur, and motivational speaker! I enjoy writing music, being my own boss, speaking the truth and Gods word to people. I also own and small online boutique “Prettyyoungthangz Collection” In November 2022 I launched Prettyyoungthangz Winter Collection which included an hoodie set with my logo on the front, varsity jacket sweat suit with “PYT” on it, and white turtleneck leotards with”prettyyoungthang” on the front. In May 2023 it will be officially two years that I left my 9-5 to pursue my career. It hasn’t been an easy ride but what’s a story if you don’t have nothing to tell !
What inspired you the most to start your career ?
What inspired me the most to start my career was me wanting more out of my life they say you only live once so I wanted my life to count. I’ve been wanting to be an entrepreneur ever since a child honestly my childhood dream job was to be a fashion designer. Also I’ve been a music head since I was a child as well music puts me in a good vibe, and honestly at 15 years old that was my first time stepping into the pulpit to preach out to a congregation. When you realize your potential, you start wanting do more, showing who you are, and wanting to push yourself to do more in life. When I quit my 9-5 I really just push myself out there especially because at the end of the day the grind don’t stop.
What’s are some upcoming projects you having coming in 2023 ?
My goal for 2023 was to do more than I did in 2022 ! February 14 I’m dropping an Ep “It’s My Turn” , written and produced by me. This is my first project which I’m so excited about dropping and for people to hear! Also to come is some e-books by me I love to spread positivity and uplift people I soon will be coming out with “ Elevating your consciousness to create your reality” also another ebook on females knowing their worth, so be on the look out for those, and an album might just drop before December. I’m determined to do a lot more than last year so you just got be on the look out !
What are some things you may feel like you may or can do differently in 2023 in your career ?
The things I can do differently in my career this year is, push myself to do the things I may feel like I need to do but are difficult to do. I also would like to put myself out there more what I’ve learned from last year is I have to step out of my comfort zone to get more of what I want. Lastly just be more confident in myself and determine, I have the potential to do anything I just have to put it to work!
