Today we’d like to introduce you to Serena Rae.
Hi Serena, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Music has been a part of my everyday life since as long as I can remember. My parents exposed me and my brother to many different genres and artists when I was younger and my family is very musical so I believe this is where I got a lot of my drive to be an artist. I started performing professionally around the Southeast in 2017 and began releasing my own music around the same time.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not always been a smooth road. The music business has many challenges at whatever level you are at on the journey. I choose to try and keep the main thing the main thing and focus on the songs because without them, I wouldn’t be doing this.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am an independent artist. I write and release all my own music. I also create all my own visuals and social media content. I would say I am most proud of what I have been able to accomplish so far in my career. However, I have had a lot of support from my family, friends, and venue owners so far and I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was a pretty energetic kid growing up. For as long as I can remember, I loved to write music and perform little concerts in my room or living room for my family. I also did plays growing up and was a theater kid for a few years and I think that helped me grow my stage presence which helped me become more comfortable on stage.
