Today we’d like to introduce you to Seven Chan and Ken Yu.
Seven and Ken are owners of KSP Restaurant Group. KSP manages and operates restaurants like Poke Burri, Poke Burri Raleigh, and Lifting Noodles Ramen. Both restaurant concepts are award-winning brands native to the city of Atlanta and are located in East Atlanta Village.
The two started with the simple goal of opening a small shop and have grown it into a small restaurant empire with 3 new stores coming to Atlanta by middle 2019 and several more throughout the country.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Being first-time restaurant owners has been a tremendous learning curve. The beginning started with the both of us working 12-14 hours a day while sacrificing regular meals, sleep, time for ourselves and being forced to problem solve on a daily basis…
Most people think owning a restaurant is simply about putting out good food. What we’ve seen is that’s only one part of being successful. In the last 2 years since the opening of our first store in 2016 we have had to grow as business people, marketers, ambassadors and even at time gladiators.
KSP Restaurant Group – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Generally, we are known for our restaurants Poke Burri and Lifting Noodles Ramen. Each are known for its innovation, quality and creativity of our food. Poke Burri has won awards, features and achievements throughout social media, local media, competitions, festivals.
Poke Burri has also recently won Yelps #2 restaurant in Atlanta designation. Lifting Noodles although being new has become an award-winning brand in its own right and is considered one of the top ramen spots in the city.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success for us isn’t in dollars but in progression and growth. We are competitive people by nature but also patient, we like to think seeing ourselves take a step forward on our business every day is a big part of our current success and the way to build our future. We would love to see our brand and number of stores grow within our city as well as throughout the country.
Wherever we go our goal is to the best at what we do without compromising the quality of each store for the quantity of stores. We would love to see our new locations grow into powerhouses themselves with strong leadership at the helm of each store.
