Meet Seth Garcia of SG3 Media Solutions in East Point

Today we’d like to introduce you to Seth Garcia.

Seth, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My story on how I fell in love with cameras actually consists of a long series of events that lead me to my ultimate passion. I was raised in Atlanta, Ga on a street called Macon Dr. that is situated in between Cleveland Ave. and Lakewood. As a child, I always remembered my father having cameras around. As he worked his full-time job as a Dekalb County firefighter, he had a part-time photography business.

As a family, we would work the booths at various events. As a teenager, I began to explore video and film cameras. In high school, my sister begged the teacher to let me be on the yearbook staff. I was given a camera and started to gain experience with editing programs. At this time I didn’t really look at this as a business or future profession. I just fell in love with being able to create. In 2008, I am a young man in my 20’s. I am making good money at an installation company. I had just had my first child and Erika and I are looking to purchase our first home. I end up losing my job and I take a piece of my last check I go on eBay and I buy a $700 professional video camera. I have little experience filming or editing video at this time.

However, I am living on Old National at this time so I start going to clubs charging artists to shoot their open mic performances. I then start reaching out to my friends that do music to shoot their music videos. Once that I start making money I immediately started re-investing in myself and working daily to perfect my craft. In 2013 I created SG3 Media Solutions, LLC. I move from music videos to doing more corporate promos, award shows, and events. Working with companies like Bronner Bros., Upscale Magazine, Ford, Gilette and more. In 2014, I made my move into television as an Editor at Bounce TV. In 2016, I moved into a role as a multi-network Promotions Producer. While I enjoyed creating for TV, I also felt that as I creative that has so much to offer I was stifled in my growth. I made my exit in 2018 and since then I have gone on to build and grow SG3 Media Solutions into a creative media powerhouse.

I recently released my pilot episode of One Goode Man, which I am excited about as it is my first scripted series as well as my Directorial Debut. This film features Stevie Baggs Jr. as a married man who finds himself in a sticky situation. The story follows the life of a man whose wife leaves their relationship making him a single father overnight. From here we see how he deals with love and loss but continues to fight through adversity. Due to an overwhelming response on our pre-release, we were able to submit our film to multiple film festivals and it has just been released on Amazon Prime. Creating engaging original content that tells organic stories based on my environment is the ultimate goal at SG3 Media but another goal that we have is helping small businesses thrive.

I have been working over the last year to bring brands the same quality and production that you would see on tv. We are moving towards doing more of what I like to call Brand Renovations. We take brands and basically bring them up to code. We redo their website, headshots, logo, video content, social media and provide them with a fresh new look, feel and approach. My journey has been amazing and my passion for creating will continue to take me to places that I’m pretty sure I could never imagine. My story is one of just believing in myself, trusting the process and never giving up.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road at all, Believing in one’s self is only something that you can do. As a creative people are always going to question the process or tell you that your dreams are impossible. What I learned is that there will be bumps in road but you always need to be able to keep your head up and keep it moving. The more you keep pushing towards your goals, doing good business and building relationships the more you will grow. The more you grow bigger and better opportunities will arise.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the SG3 Media Solutions story. Tell us more about the business.
At SG3 Media Solutions, our goal is to just tell better stories. Our experience is what sets us apart from others. The special attention we give to every client and our quality of work is what keeps them coming back. SG3 Media Solutions takes all that we have learned working with major corporations and television networks and we push it back to startups to in essence help them look and feel bigger. We are currently offering a Brand Renovation service we take brands that are a little outdated and bring them up to code. Your brand is your real estate and every now and then it needs a facelift. As a company, we are just happy for growth and a flow of new clients that will allow us to explore more creative avenues.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
In the next 5-10 years, the creative media market will explode. The need for high-quality creative content by brands big and small is one that will see constant growth. With more devices and more people around the world accessing the internet and streaming, content companies will want to be sure that what they are providing the consumer is in line with industry standards. I believe that as we continue to thrive as a company, the industry overall will continue to grow to a place that honestly we have never seen before. With new shifts in artificial intelligence, augmented reality and virtual reality there will always be something new to learn as well as something new to offer a prospective client. Over the next few years, we will explore incorporating these technologies into our business to expand our offerings.
