Shakiera, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always had a passion for entrepreneurship. Growing up in Decatur, GA I remember selling candy and snacks to my friends from school. When I finished college, I worked fulltime and joined a few network marketing businesses. Network marketing taught me how to be confident in selling my products. Around October of 2017, I had an idea to start a cotton candy business. I know I wanted to be different and I wanted my brand name to be catchy. After a few months of brainstorming, I named my business Fluffy Flava Cotton Candy Bar in December 2017. My cotton candy is mostly vegan-friendly and does not contain any artificial ingredients. Most of my customers compliment the taste and the variety of options of the flavors.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The roadblock that I have encountered in my business was my cotton candy machine. I have had my machine fail on me a few times. I had to learn how to keep up with maintenance by having parts in stock, watching videos on repairing a cotton candy machine and having conversations with the manufacturer regarding maintenance. When my machine broke down on me, it caused a delay on a customers order. I decided to purchase a second machine so that customers orders would not be delayed if one of my machines break down.

Fluffy Flava Cotton Candy Bar provides cotton candy services for events in the metro Atlanta area.
We provide cotton candy cart services for birthday parties, baby showers, weddings, community events, fundraisers and photo shoots. Our mission is to serve customers with a variety of creative cotton candy to all age groups.
I specialize in flavorful cotton candy and I consider myself a cotton candy spin artist. I provide custom party favors such as cotton candy martini, cotton candy pops, cotton candy push pop, cotton candy cups, and more.
I am proud that Fluffy Flava has done some amazing partnerships with Delta Airlines TechOps, Taste of Gwinnett, The Alphabethouse, The Village Market, and several other events in just one year in business.
What sets my business apart from others is that we have over 12 different flavors that are vegan-friendly.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plans for the future is to open up a store or to partner with a dessert shop. I would also like to have my product on the shelves of a major grocery store or retail shop. I am looking forward to adding popcorn to Fluffy Flava. I plan to introduce popcorn to FluffyFlava in 2019.
