Today we’d like to introduce you to Shakir Collective.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
We are a group of young African American Muslim creatives and we own a studio located in the Historic West End. Our goal and mission is to make sure we are an artistic, clean, ethical space for creatives alike. We are trying to bring positivity and creativeness back into our community. So please support us by booking with us today!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We had some hiccups in the beginning with not being able to bring in people. Through word of mouth, we have slowly started to grow our space and business.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Shakir Collective?
Our studio provides different types of services from photography to videography. So if you have a vision that you want to see come to light our space can allow that to happen. Not only do we use the space for photography/videography, we also host small events. You can sign up for our membership and gain access to the studio. We are changing the game and providing top-notch customer service.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Our advice would be to never give up on your dream. You have to fight through your struggles because the reward on the other side will be worth it.
