Today we’d like to introduce you to Shameka Jones
Hi Shameka, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Tenille and I first met through mutual friends and quickly realized we shared a unique connection. Tenille had been working on an innovative idea—a champagne bar designed to offer a space to unwind and indulge in curated libations. As we got to know each other, it became clear that our interests aligned and that our individual skills and backgrounds complemented each other perfectly.
We saw an opportunity to bring Tenille’s vision to life together, combining her creativity and passion with my expertise and strategic insight. That synergy catapulted the launch of Champagne Problems.
From the moment we decided to join forces, everything fell into place. We worked tirelessly to create a space that offers not just exceptional champagne but also an inviting, relaxed atmosphere where everyone feels welcome. And that’s how our dream of Champagne Problems became a reality.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Building Champagne Problems has been a rewarding journey, but it certainly wasn’t without its challenges. One of the significant hurdles we faced was working with vendors. Unfortunately, not all vendors delivered the exceptional quality we expected or met the deadlines required to keep our project on track. This forced us to make quick adjustments and find reliable partners who shared our commitment to excellence.
Another challenge was hiring and maintaining a skilled team of bartenders. We were looking for individuals who were not only eager to learn but also passionate about delivering an elevated customer experience. Finding people who shared our dedication to mastering the art of wines and champagnes proved to be a time-intensive process, but it was crucial to the success of our vision.
Additionally, navigating the complexities of launching a new business—such as managing budgets, securing permits, and creating a unique yet inviting ambiance—was a learning experience in itself. Through these struggles, we learned the importance of resilience, adaptability, and surrounding ourselves with a team that believes in our mission.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
