Meet Shannin Render of Render Law Firm LLC in downtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shannin Render.

Shannin, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I grew up in Savannah, GA, the oldest of two children. Neither one of my parents finished college so it was imperative for me to attend. This was very apparent in my upbringing. I attended Jenkins High School in Savannah Ga. While there I started an entertainment company, Swag-It-Out Ent. Reaching minor success provided me with the entrepreneurial spirit. Also, while I was there, I had the best Counselor a young man could ask for in Arthur Howard. Mr. Howard helped me receive an array of scholarships but ultimately I decided to attend Georgia State Business School. Upon completion of Georgia State, I decided to attend law school. While I had many options to choose from, I wanted to be closer to home and away from any big cities so that I could focus and study. This lead me to Florida Coastal School of Law where I received a partial scholarship. While there, I met my wife and attained the tools I would need to proceed with my career as an attorney. In our last year of law school, me and my wife Kendra Render moved to Atlanta, Georgia where I pursued an externship in Juvenile Law at the Cobb County Juvenile Court. After passing the bar, I was hired at Lister&Holt where I worked as an associate attorney for two years. From there, I proceeded to start the Render Law Firm LLC

Has it been a smooth road?
There has been ups and downs throughout my journey to get me to this position. Growing up, my parents worked hard to provide a decent living for me and my brother. Seeing my parents work so hard pushed me to pursue odd end jobs. I worked cleaning toilets cutting grass watching kids construction and all type pf manual labor jobs. I was never great in securing good jobs. The struggle in law school is experienced by all law students the fact that there isn’t enough time to work combined with the stress of law studies makes an environment of extreme anguish. Intestinal fortitude is much needed in the study of law. Once I graduated, the bar was another uphill climb. I remained unemployed (uber) while studying for a bar in which it took me two tries to pass. Which totals up to over a year of driving Uber for an individual with, multiple degrees and a clear background. I would say this was the most extreme struggle trying to make ends meet during this time.
