Today we’d like to introduce you to Shanon Bell.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started my modeling career at age 16; however, in the early 2000’s I decided to get behind the camera and start a career in family photography. Because I worked with many children while modeling and working as a photographer, it was easy for me to find great child talent for clients whenever they had a need. As clients began to need more children on a regular basis, it became apparent that it was the perfect time for me to open an agency here in Atlanta; The Bell Agency is an incredibly reputable and successful business that I created in under five years.
Since starting the Bell Agency, I have created countless opportunities for actors and models in the Atlanta area. My dedication to the industry and my personal connection with clients has propelled me to become a top-tier agency in the Southeastern region.
The doors to the Bell Agency officially opened in 2014 and has been growing ever since. Today, the Bell Agency represents over a thousand models and actors ranging from newborn to seniors in the Southeast. This all started out as a few favors for producers and directors, but with hard work and devotion, I’ve turned this into my own corporation.
Has it been a smooth road?
Starting any business has its’ struggles. Finding balance in my life between work and family is tricky, simply because this business is so fast-paced and last minute. Everything we receive has a rush order and has to be handled immediately.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
The Bell Agency represents commercial/print models and actors in the Atlanta area. I am the proudest of the amount of work we get for our talent. We have gotten our talent work with Ford, Bealls, Sprite, Home Depot, Publix, Delta, Rooms to Go, and so many other clients. There is nothing more rewarding than calling my talent and letting them know that they booked a national commercial.
What sets me apart from others is the fact that my team and I go above and beyond what is normally required as an agent to find what a client needs.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Atlanta is an incredible location for this industry. The Tv/Film industry has exploded since I opened the doors for The Bell Agency. We have seen a decline in print jobs; partly due to the fact that there are so many department stores merging and/or closing. We see that now there are more jobs for commercials and film as opposed to print. I would definitely recommend starting in Atlanta. It has been called a Little Hollywood.
