Today we’d like to introduce you to Shantel Bryant.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Shantel. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I moved to Atlanta, GA in 2007 from Savannah, GA. I obtained a job in a doctor’s office (Southern Crescent Primary Care) where I worked side by side with an incredible primary care Physician by the name of Dr. John Ogundipe. Over the course of 12 years, I built relationships with the patients, provided excellent care to the patients, I was the doctors “go to” person. The patients were no longer looked at as patients; they were my family. On May 22, 2019 the world stopped! Dr. Ogundipe passed away suddenly without warning. His practice closed down immediately and everyone was devastated. Because of the relationships I had with the patients most of them had my cell number. They were calling me crying, asking where they were gonna go, needing medication refills, and just needed some encouragement. After one week of being in a deep depression, a friend spoke to me and encouraged me to obtain an office to provide a continuum of care for the patients that were left behind. I listened to his counsel and took off like a rocket. I snapped out of my depression and acted on what was best for the patients. I obtained an office to provide a continuum of care for the patients I so deeply love. I wanted to surround them with the same staff, people that know them and their medical history, that genuinely care for them, and have their best interest at heart. On June 10th, 2019 Southern Crescent Medical Center, LLC, was established and provided for all the patients that were left behind. We are continuing the legacy of such an amazing doctor and providing excellent patient care, love, and support.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It’s been a roller coaster ride. Full of bumps, twists, and turns. Some of the struggles were obtaining an office in the perfect location and getting approved with insurance companies.

Southern Crescent Medical Center, LLC is a family medicine Physician office located in Stockbridge, GA. We treat patients of all ages ranging from 12 months to 109 for common colds, sinuses, physical exams, Diabetes, Hypertension, Obesity, etc. We have bilingual staff and providers. We’ve built a reputation for providing excellent quality care to our patients and the community. I’m most proud of how well we’re continuing the legacy of providing excellent care and love to the patients and community. The entire team (Providers, Front Office, MA) work very well together; we love each other, and love the patients. The genuine love and compassion we have for the patients is what sets us apart. The patients can feel it.
What were you like growing up?
I was very inquisitive. I was always open to learning and trying something new. I was on the drill team in high school. I won “Most Friendly” in the high school yearbook. I was very personable, love ppl, and was very friendly. Anything I’ve ever set out to do I’ve accomplished or at least tried.
