Today we’d like to introduce you to Sharonda (Trezure) Hunt and Isaiah (Blessing) Hunt.
Sharonda and Isaiah, before we jump into specific questions about your work, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
TCO, the chosen ones Enterprise Entertainment label, is a new entertainment label that was established a year ago by us. We are known by the names Blessing (Isaiah ) and Trezure (Sharonda) Hunt. We originally started out as Hanging With The Hunts on Instagram and are still very active with that page. We are a newly married couple of almost three years who have gone through a lot in life individually and have an extraordinary love for God, each other and for people.
We came about this journey because my husband Blessing is in the music industry and has been since he was a teen. Unfortunately, during his music career, a lot of music was stolen from him. The most recent encounter was a record label a year ago that wanted to sign him but at the cost of changing everything about him, including the name Blessing. A name he cherishes being a product of foster care, and the son of a young drug-addicted mother that was left alone under a bridge at nine months old, and surviving so much more, he has truly been blessed and is a blessing.
After he opted to turn down the record deal, as his wife, I saw the pain in his eyes because music has always been his passion. This was the turning point for us. We discussed the obstacles ahead and did a lot of praying, and this is how TCO came about. We wanted to create a platform for people like my husband and I that were artists with various talents. Our goal was to create an environment where those with all talents, regardless of age, race, gender, etc., would have an opportunity to display those talents to the world.
We make sure that our artists get as much exposure as possible by booking shows, getting them TV exposure, and going through every link to make sure they succeed. TCO is not just a business. It’s a family and even furthermore our way to minister to others. We currently have gospel artists like Minister Angel James, rappers Capiche, GwopBoi_J (Jadon Moses), Jungle Boi (CJ Reed), Tco_iz_flip (Isaiah Jones), r&b/gospel artist Shawn Couch, musician Hope Daughtry, spoken word poet Empress El, blogger Deandra James (daughter of TCOs CEO and founder of Theblackprincessdiaries.com). We are collabed with the very talented STACY JENKINS (film writer and producer of Pop of Genius Films Ga) out of Macon GA. We also have recently collabed with X1 family and their talented artists.
Blessing and I, along with a few others of TCO, have officially gained the title of actors/actresses and profiles can be found in ImBd, which is also a great accomplishment for us, and our TCO family.
We actually have acting roles and are filming now for a film coming out in spring of 2021 called “The Hairst” that was written and produced by Stacey Jenkins. It is an awesome PG-13 film filled with drama and suspense. We hace also played roles in her film Love, Blood, and Cotton last year.
We are looking to expand to even more talents for TCO and recruit others beyond Georgia. One of our goals has been to take those talented young people off the streets and switch their focus to something positive. We encourage them to put their pain into their craft to create greatness, and so far, we have been successful in doing so.
Hearing a young person tell you, “Mr. Blessing and Mrs. Trezure, you kept me from actually going out to rob someone by bringing me into TCO,” have been some of the most rewarding words we have heard.
TCO also has non-profit entities and a discipleship program that we encourage our artists to partake in. Before the pandemic, we were traveling back and forth from Atlanta to Columbus, Georgia. (Our hometown) to help with the Columbus initiative to stopping the violence, and also to launch our “stop the bullying/violence” campaign. Macon Ga has also been a place where we have implemented our stop the bullying/violence campaign as well. We look forward to working with the local government here as well with this same initiative. This is dear to us because CEO Blessing was bullied as a kid after kids found out he was a product of foster care. We are not only focusing on bullying but non-violence as a whole. I, Trezure, personally focuses on spousal abuse because I was a victim of this in the past.
We are also working with mothers who have lost their child(ren) to gun violence. This organization is called “Moms against gun violence grievance support group.” They can be found on Facebook. This group was founded and is ran by Sonya Pace of Columbus, Georgia, who lost her son to gun violence.
We also have a non-profit called “Wiggin Out” that we began launching before the pandemic, where we provide wigs & lashes for terminally ill and cancer patients who have lost their hair and nails due to chemo or other illnesses. Blessing’s adopted mom, the wonderful Mary Hunt, passed a few years ago from cancer, so this is yet another very important reason.
Although we know that hair lashes are not the cure for these illnesses, we are also aware that the better you feel on the outside, the more healing radiates on the inside! So our goal is to make those ladies feel super good when they take a look in the mirror.
In the near future, we are also looking forward to helping the homeless. This is dear to me because in 2015, I, Trezure, lost all feeling in both hands. After three surgeries, my hands never fully recovered. I was also diagnosed with congestive heart failure, neuropathy in all four extremities, chronic pain syndrome, along with a host of other health problems which forced me out of work and ultimately led to me losing almost everything I had, including my home; but I didn’t lose my faith! So being able to help others in need even if I battle my own illnesses has become my purpose! I’ve learned to turn my pain into my purpose, and indeed, despite our obstacles, we are both living out our purpose. We are a testament that although you may have gone through things and may still be going through; it doesn’t have to define you! You can get through it all! Outside of TCO, Iam a part of admin of a FB group called VTP (Virtual Temple of Prayer) founded by Minister Love Mieses. In this group, I try to go live through the weekday to give a word of encouragement to listeners that may need a ray of hope, a prayer, and some encouragement. We can all use that this day and time!
Also in the making is an online talk show entitled “Trezure Talks” that will deal with things from mental health issues, domestic violence, building self-esteem, and much more. The concept is to discuss things that are sometimes viewed as “embarrassing” by so many, especially in the African American community. So many people have gone through or are still facing these serious issues. My motto is that if I can help one person to change their mind about committing suicide or to get out of an abusive relationship, then my purpose is being fulfilled.
Some things we’ve done within our year of establishing the entertainment label that we have not mentioned are: Participating in a prayer vigil for our little girls that were being kidnapped and killed a lot last year, we also held a gospel concert where we use the donations to help fund our wigging out and stop the bullying campaign as well as donated half of the funds to New Bethel Christian Academy in Columbus Georgia to go towards getting the kids at that school a playground.
This year we were also a part of hosting a pull up stop the violence concert in Macon Georgia, with Stacy Jenkins, as well as our TCO artist participating in a pull-up gospel concert to promote voting and encouraging people to exercise their rights to vote.
TCO artists have also had the pleasure of performing on Atlanta’s people TV to help promote a Telethon. We have also been featured on Albany Georgia’s radio station Praise 105.5, where Blessing and I discussed the goals of our new founded entertainment label. We have also been featured in “Line by Line,” an online epic Urban TV program.
For Christmas, we are looking to help one needy family that has at least one child in the household as a part of our discipleship program. The deadline to nominate a family is the 6th day of December. You can go to our Facebook page @ www.facebook.com/hangingwiththehunts/ or Instagram page @hanging_with_the_hunts or email a family’s story to tcoenterprisellc@gmail.com.
Also, on our pages, we do random giveaways. This year we gave away a trip to Las Vegas at a 5-star hotel compliments of our partnership with M&M Travels, LLC.
We are doing so many things as a couple and as a business to prayerfully help make a positive impact on the world. We have so much in store and are grateful for this opportunity and the chances we have been blessed with to be a blessing to others.
Be on the lookout for Blessing’s single “The Beginning” about the story of his life. We also have a single coming out together called “Change,” it is something we all can either relate to or learn from. Blessing also has a single called “Loyalty” featuring X1/TCO artist/COO “Capiche.” Our artist Gwopboi J has a hit single, “Hate In My City,” and our sister/ gospel artist Angel James has a new cd out, along with our other artists that have so much talent to present to the world. I hate we can’t name them all.
Last but not least, we like to give a special thanks to our parents Jimmy and Ann James who have kept us inspired throughout this entire journey! Special thanks to your Voyage Magazine for choosing our story to present to the world. We are eternally grateful!
Has it been a smooth road?
If I said it had been a smooth ride, I’d be lying! There have been financial obstacles starting out fresh with just my husband and I. He being the only one able to work, but yet we still pushed to help out others. As CEOs, we have to deal with people and different personalities, which can be challenging within itself. We have had people come and go in our label, but our loyal ones have stayed down, and we look forward to their “come up!”
I am limited in things I can do and suffer from bad chronic pain along with the health problems I mentioned before. Most days, I want to just lay in bed, but having this purpose has helped me to push through the pain. God, my husband Blessing, daughter Deandra, and my parents have helped me so much along the way. The journey has not been easy, but the rewards of helping others outshine the struggles along the way.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
In the next 5 to 10 years, we see ourselves having Studios built up for unfortunate children to be able to learn dance, singing instruments, and other crafts, and prayerfully be able to provide all of those things free of cost for low-income individuals. We also see ourselves expanding beyond the city of Georgia, and lots of touring for our artists once this pandemic is better. We also see ourselves side by side with some of our favorite people like Tyler Perry, Tamela and David Mann, Justin Beaver, Steve Harvey, and other great artists and producers! Yes…. we think BIG around here!! Not to mention being able to stand beside our artists as they accept BET awards!!!
