Hi Shawndreca, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Well as you know Covid-19 changed everyone’s lives. With the losses and gains, my world changed for the better. During the pandemic, I was given enough time to re-evaluate my life, my goals, my relationship and take a leap of faith with God by my side. The pandemic showed me I could do anything I put my mind to. If I could run a medical office by myself, I could run my own business and feel free. I’m so proud of myself for running a successful business during a pandemic. I wanted to maintain and keep my freedom. I passed out business cards I posted three times a day. When I talk to people it feels like I’ve known them for years. That’s always been a talent of mine, being extremely friendly to strangers. I make people feel comfortable when we first meet. With the support of my fiancé and family, it gave me a little bit more of a push that I could really own a business. It was extremely hard at first but it was something I loved to do. I love talking to people and I love to Advertise and promote brands. So advertising my brand became easy. Shades by Dreca will not only become a brand but I want it to create an EMPIRE!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. Sometimes you may be at war with your own thoughts that’s telling you, you can’t do it, you’re not good enough, there not going to like it. Having a fearful mindset can set you back in so many ways. I had to change a lot of things within myself while owning a business. Trying to stay motivated was extremely hard. I want people to redirect their thinking to positive thoughts only. It would really help your business a lot. If a negative thought can transpire every 15 seconds. Imagine what a positive thought can do to change your day-to-day thinking. Positive thinking can push you so much further when running your business. Not only would it inspire you never to give up, but to see the bigger outcome for the rest of your life. Stop doubting yourself, because if I can do it so can you.
