Today we’d like to introduce you to Shayla Clay.
Shayla is a party stylist and founder of Shayla Clay Designs, a blog and shop filled with creative inspiration. After pondering about leaving her teaching career in 2014, she started her blog on a whim, to share her creative projects including home decorating, crafts and parties. Later, Shayla shared her first graders’ end of the year party and it became apparent there was a big demand for her creativity. Her experience has expanded into ongoing party styling opportunities for families, by exclusively styling children’s birthdays, baby showers, and Christenings. This year, Shayla opened a one-stop online party supply shop to offer her printable designs, along with a selection of fabulously styled party boxes. Her work has also been featured in publications such as Kara’s Party Ideas, Evite, Catch my Party, and Mom Stamp.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road to success is never a smooth one, but when you’re doing something that you love, I personally believe your passion gives you the “juice” to keep going. There were months where I didn’t make any sales, people have been critical of my designs in the beginning, and continually learning how to “brand” my company and marketing to my ideal client is something I will continuously be learning. As long as I can wake up, and press forward, then I’m moving in the right direction.

Shayla Clay Designs was created to be parents’ secret resource, providing them with all the necessities to throw a perfectly styled, Pinterest-worthy party! My party packages are sent to you as a complete party in a box, delivered right to your door. Each includes coordinating flat and tableware, themed decor, printables and more! All of my products are explicitly selected to coordinate your party theme with details needed to create a fabulous soiree.
I work with a graphic designer, who helps me in bringing the vision I have for the party printables to life. My beau professionally is an I.T. Security Engineer and helps with the maintenance of the website, and social media marketing. Other than that, everything else is on me!

My family and friends are my biggest supporters. They are there for me when I feel like I’m not doing enough, and support me mentally and emotionally. I have an absolute incredible support group; some are even out of state, but they pray for me and the progress of the company to ensure that I am pressing forward. I am so blessed!
